Bottle thanks to HOMER! Backlog. Pours clear mahogany, small beige head, dissipates quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is bourbon, cherries, prunes, oak, toffee. Flavor is fully sweet and light bitter. Full body, very much a sipper. Can’t read some of my damn notes so some details are lost here.

Bottle from Angry Chair Release: Pours a hazy/murky brown-orange with a white head. Nose is caramel, toffee, slight bitterness, huge oaky vanilla, bourbon, and mild barleywine fruit. Flavor is similar with caramel, toffee, oak, vanilla, bourbon, slight booze, and a bit more sweetness. Definitely a sipper, definitely memorable, and definitely not to be trifled with. Share with friends and keep from nonbelievers. This one is on my top ten memorable beers, as is its namesake.

At the Barleywine event. Aroma is caramel, toffee, dark fruit, booze, barrel. Appearance is dark brown, light brown head, too dark to see through. Taste is fucking awesome. Caramel, toffee, dark fruit, booze, barrel, fucking smooth. Mouthfeel is heavy body, light carbonation, wonderful caramel barrel aftertaste. Overall, holy shit this is great.

FINALLY TICKED DAVE!!! Well not that Dave... Bottle at a tasting - thanks, Kevin! Very dark brown in color with a light tan head. Toffee, chocolate aroma with a candy or even malted milk ball note. Toffee, betty, malted milk ball flavor, medium sweet, light barrel notes. Nice feel, pretty drinkable, nicely carbonated.

From notes. Enjoyed this at a share at Corbet’s house on October 10. 750 mL bottle. This thing is awesome! The pour is a lighter black with a light khaki colored head that falls to a ring without any lace. The aroma is really good. There is a caramel malt, lots of dark fruits, a hint of bourbon, some light brown sugar, and a touch of molasses. There is a light chocolate and vanilla on the finish that I enjoy. The flavor is just as good. The caramel, chocolate, molasses, and dark fruits are big and balance well. The bourbon, vanilla, and light burnt brown sugar are light and balance this thing out nicely. The mouth feel is thick, but just lacking a little, with a softer carbonation and a lingeringly chocolate and booze finish. This is the only time where a decent heat makes itself known. I love this beer.

Bottle thanks to Adam. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is strong dark fruit, raisin and dates, brown sugar, bourbon. Medium body, syrup, brown sugar, bourbon, wood, very sweet, very good.
