Same as with all Indonesian beers I know. Drinkable when served icecold, then, of course quite refreshing after a hot day. But on a global scale, these beers are below average Lagers and won't stand any test. Anker does not manage to stand out from its local peers as well.

[backlog] 24-05-15 // from the bottle at Chill Out Bar, Gili Air, Indonesia. Icecold on a hot day, okay. Otherwise not.

Bottle. This could be soda water in a blind taste test. maybe not bad when it is sweltering but don’t take this our of Bali.

Can, 0.33l, courtesy of Rade. Clear pale golden color with medium frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is weak grainy, grassy, papery and metallic. Taste starts light sweet grainy, following is grassy, slight buttery and vegetably with dry mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Light body, thin texture and soft carbonation in palate. Watery and tasteless...

Drinking one now after a Bali Hai and Bintang. It’s a standard Indonesian beer. Light lager style with a light malt to bitterness balance. I don’t personally like the hopping in majority of commercial beer and to me this tastes like standard Stella Artois Saaz variety. Another highly processed boring beer where clarifying has removed all traces of goodness but goes down fine enough for the masses

I drank a few of these in Indonesia when I was fed up with the ubiquitous Bintang. Actually, there’s very little difference and they are both very undistinguished examples of Asian adjunctivitus.

Flesje uit supermarkt in Indonesië. Pilskleurig, kraag is snel weg. Ruikt wat metalig, als ik er al iets van ruik. Smaak is waterig, beetje bitter en verder proef ik er weinig aan.
