Thick dark brown body with big tan head. Rich yet very refined chocolate, tofee and brown sugar together with earthy hops and even some smoke. Interesting flavour, with light sourness, roasted malts and a humous hops it makes a great balanced and refined brew. Dry yet caramel-like aftertaste. Bubbly and never sticky body. Much better than I expected. Don’t drink too cold. (33cl bottle from Bière Révolution)

F: medium size, tanned, not long lasting. C: dark, opaque. A: roasted malt, coffee, fruity, bit cocoa, liquorice, mellow red fruits. T: roasted malt, cocoa, bit coffee, light mellow fruity, bit red vinous, light oily mouthfeel, medium body and carbonation, dark caramel, quite simple but sometimes it is enough, enjoyed, but the “imperial smout” :) 33cl bottle from Carrefour hypermarket in Hazebrouck, France

33 cl. Noire fonce mousse abondante. That is the question ! 33 cl. Dark black with abundant foam. Nose on resin, chocolate, herbs, spices and roasted coffee. Mouth sweeter than expected, creamy, spicy to the taste of chocolate, coffee, grilled malt. Seems light despite its 8.5%. Good, very bitter but is it an Imperial Stout or Imperial Smut? That is the question!

August 27, 2015 - with blankboy, jercraigs, mabel and guests. 750ml bottle. Dark brown pour with a tan creamy/foamy head. Odd aroma - mint, dried flowers, light roast - ehh. Taste is very ... green; vegetal, not much roast - imperial stout? alcohol, sure, but ... Silky mouthfeel, weak carbonation, finishes quick and leaves nothing behind. Weird, not great.

Pours murky, dark brown , creamy tan head. Dark malt nose with Belgian yeast. Big sweet flavor with some rich and sugary chocolate, dark fruits, burnt candi sugar.medium bodie, creamy, with fine carbonation. Moderate warmth to finish with further dark malt character, very light roast, some chocolate, suggestions of burnt rubber, low bitterness. decent beer.

Brune au palais léger, laissant peu d’amertume en bouche après coup. Donne l’impression d’être moins épaisse que la plupart des stouts. Délicat goût de chocolat. Robe noire brillante avec une petite épaisseur de mousse stable.

(Anosteké Brune Imperial Smout) Stubby bottle 330ml from Saveur Biere, served into a snifter, ABV 8.5% Black colour on the body, tall and thick brown head on top, with very good retention. Aroma of oats, light liquorice, coffee and hints of chocolate. Taste also of oats and liquorice, bitter chocolate, coffee, coffee beans, light roasted malts, coal on the finish and a nice bitterness. Medium thick body, good amount of carbonation, quite sticky on the palate. Very good, nice surprise.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2016 Bottle at home. Looks dark brown, with big, coffee head. The head lasts long. Tastes coffee, light roast. The alcohol is present, but not disturbing. Not as heavy and complex as an Imperial stout, but very fresh. Lacks hops though. I would however have again, if given the chance.

Black liquid and brown head. Fruity and chocolate aroma. Somewhat sweet, Medium body and soft carbonation.

Dobre ze srednia kremowa ciemno zolta pianka. Gleboka ciemna barwa nie przezroczysta. Sporo porterowej palonosci i slodow czekoladowych. Z goryczka srednio jest. Jednak bardzie slodowy RIS niz wytrawny. Nie do konca dobrze zbalansowany. Ale w sumie niezle piwo.
