COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You may have taken a draw of this Belgian brew in the past, during your afternoon "client relations" meetings at Brasserie Beck. The double blonde was developed with the help of some intense Belgian brewers (as if theres any other kind) known as the Brouwerij De Musketiers, and it actually helped Thor Cheston, Becks beer director, get knighted by the beer guild in Brussels.

And now, for the first time, theyre bottling it. It comes in a 750ml versioncomplete with corks and wire cagesand, at this very minute, its on a ship approaching our shores, where its due to arrive any day (icebergs notwithstanding) for your closer-to-home client relations. When it gets here, expect something citrusy and yeasty, but a little less potent than your typical Belgian

Taster at Taphouse. High creamy and long lasting white head. Hazy yellow body. Mild and weak fruity aroma. Dry and acidic fruity citrus pine flavor with a good deal of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long bitter finish.

At Bruges Beer Fest. It appears hazy golden with a big white head. The aroma contains apple, citrus, spices, herbs and yeast. Starts off medium sweet and becomes medium bitter in the lasting finish. Medium body and fizzy carbonation. Drinkable, but a bit too spicy and peppery.

75 cl bottle that pours hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma is yeasty and spicy with light soapy and citrus notes. Fruity and sweet spicy yeasty notes. Some malty notes. Some marmalade in the finish.

At Maakuns. Bottle shared by me. Hazy blonde with white head. Lemon yeast coriander triforce action. Bittersweet. Kinda dusty. Bit watery, bit too sweet perhaps but quite ok.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Very hazy golden with nice white head. Nice maltyness up front, light caramel and dough, biscuits, light creamy yeast, soft spices, light bitter French herbs. Under medium sweet with a surprisingly long lasting medium bitter finish. Medium bodied with a lot of carbonation. Decent standard Belgian blond.

Bottle (750 ml) at home. Split 3-ways. Almost clear bright golden with a frothy white head, decent retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is very yeasty (Belgian yeast) with citrus and generic yeast fruitiness alongside banana, floral/perfumy notes and mild peppery notes. Taste isnt too sweet (moderate) with Belgian yeast, banana, citrus, mild peppery presence and mild herbalness. Medium body. Good carbonation. Ample mouthfeel. Mildly spicy and herbal finish. A good Belgian Ale with an ok balance and drinkability but very similar to so many Belgian Ale (including the much less pricey Troubadour Blonde).
