bubbleflubber (2209) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - JAN 22, 2017
Pours a translucent straw-golden into the glass, with a large soapy head that reduces to a nice lasting foam ring atop the pour, leaving soapy lacing. The nose is of honey and citrus peels, some grains interloping around as well. Flavors follow suit, with lovely honey and melony citrus (complete with rind/peel/zest), lots of lemon and light grain notes. The smooth mouthfeel and medium body make for an easy quaff, nice complexity and a substantial palate. A more sweet, almost tropical take on the wheat ale, this is a very nice offering from Apocalypse.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2017 Having it fresh at the bar knocks it up a couple of points. Original rating from 2016... Found old notes on this from some tasting in the past year. Honey color with cream head and decent lacing. Smells of wheat and whiskey. Wheaty flavor. Not crisp at all.

Can. Pours slightly hazy amber with a thick and frothy but effervescent white head. Aroma delivers fruity, wheaty and yeasty tones plus a hint of honey. Flavor adds some sweet orange to the medley, as well as a snippet of woody hops. Body is fairly firm, fizz is decent. Get censered!
