To me the initial taste on this is like a vey hoppy red ale. Was hoping for a little more aroma of the hops as that is my preference in an IPA but is a good beer. Nothing too stand out other than that red ale taste to me. Was going for a another wave of flavor after that but again nothing really jumped out.

Pours a translucent reddish amber into the glass, with a large eggshell head that dissipates to a medium ring that leaves chunky lacing. The nose is huge, exploding with caramel and candied citrus. Flavors, again, are very bold, with caramel, toffee, mixed citrus, light toasted breadiness, and bittered with an abundance of hops to provide a sweet, citric and peppering finish. This is full-bodied, although easy to drink, with a substantive, complex palate, medium-soft carbonation and a well-hidden ABV to boot. Bursting with flavor, I’d have this Impy Red any day of the week!!! Truly gorgeous! TheBeerGod (6253) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - NOV 6, 2016

An aroma of caramel, citrus, pours a clear amber with an off-white head. It tastes of citrus and caramel with a nice balance of sweetness and bitterness. The palate was a medium body, slightly oily feel with a bitter finish.

Draft at the brewery, served in a plastic cup. Sweeter than hoppy, but quite enjoyable. I had a pretty hard time distinguishing between the Glorious Dead ESB and Hoppacolypse ... the Dead is perhaps a shade redder than the oranger DIPA, but the flavor and characteristics are pretty subtle. Also had the Hoppacolypse with Grapefruit, which added a nice snap. (#6225/6, 7/13/2016) Sledutah (7788) - Utah, USA - MAY 31, 2016

Pours slightly cloudy dark golden with a medium sized off-white head, good lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, grapefruit and fruity. Taste is grassy, grapefruit, caramel and pine resin
Total Wine, McLean can: pours amber with an off white head. Aroma is toasted malts, citrus. Taste is much the same. Really malty with just enough bitterness to make it a little hard to drink. Not my style at all. Bitter and full.
