On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is rye and bread. Thin body, bread, wheat, watery finish, no.

Red copper pour with thin head. Aroma of faint sweet grains. Taste follows nose. Kind of like this one.

On tap @ Apocalypse Brew Works. Nice amber colored beer with a thin layer of off-white foam. Kind of a hoppier aroma to this, but not my favorite profile...lemon peel, tea, grass, and some flowers. Decent enough bready malts and some toast. Maybe a bit of caramel sweetness. Light bitterness to the finish.

on tap @ Apocalypse / Louisville --- Clear medium amber, light head, streak of lace. Taste is malt with a bit of caramel and lemon that grows in the palate until it is matched by light bittering in the finish. Very unassuming, but agreeable, and a session candidate.

phaleslu (10742) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 11, 2014
Draft taster at the brewery. Pours a clear golden amber with a small off-white head. Notes of amber and caramel malts, leaves and some earthiness, tea with lemon, and a bit of toast. Not really any ’roast,’ but certainly has more depth to the malts than most ambers. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty, dry mouthfeel. Really good for the style.

Tmoney99 (15030) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 5, 2013
Draft sample at brewpub. Poured hazy dark amber color with an average fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted sweet malt and small hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Flavor was moderate sweet flavor with an average bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.

ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - AUG 2, 2013
Aroma of caramel malts and moderate floral hops. Appearance is translucent copper with sticky bone head. Flavor matches the nose; a nice floral presence with the caramel malt backing. Palate is medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation and a bitter finish. Good amber.

on draft and first off not a huge amber fan..but i tried this one...amber color with white head with little lacing...the aroma of malt sweet with hints of caramel...ok i thought has good aroma...the flavor was pretty good..had hints of that caramel and some hops...i was surprised as to how well this tasted...this is a good example of what one should be brewing and tasting in an amber ale...
