This beer is not a really Kölsch, as the standards in the Konvention are not met. The beer is unfiltered, a bit too hoppy and, off course, not brewed i Köln. However it is a nice and peasant beer.
From tap at the brewpub, 5.2% as Apollo Kölsch. Pours hazy yellow with a little dense white head. Thick malty and dry diacetyl aroma. Thin watery texture, mild caramel malt flavour. Rather dry and with a light butterish note before the finish. Solid bitterness into the finish. Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 27, 2007
Hazy profound yellow coloured ale mounted by a small white head that recedes to ring. Quite some yeast in that nose that is bready and kinda estery on top of the strawy malts. Sweetish palate where plain sweet grains dominate the subtle lemony hops. No proper dryness coming up, but a rough bitterness installs and closes everything up with rough graininess. larsga (7508) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 24, 2007
Small white head, slightly hazy orange body. Light fruity, spicy aroma with notes of strawberry. Watery, mealy taste of strawberry with notes of hops. Dry, strawberry aftertaste. Boring and too watery. (0.25l draft.)

Draught @ brew pub. Cloudy yellow/golden beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly lemony, and the flavour is banana and bubble gum. Overall more like a German wheat beer than a kolsch. Christian (13605) - Odense, DENMARK - OCT 26, 2006
Light amber beer with a small white head.
Caramel aroma. Caramel, sweet flavour. Not a good kölsch, and nothing special in its own right.

Draught @ the brewpub. Golden coloured. Unclear. Off white htead. Buttery sweet and light fruity aroma. Flavour is fruity and buttery as well. Quite bland. Is light herbal. Medium bodied, but lacs some of the freshness, I’ve experienced in other kölsch I’ve tried. Light bitter end. Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - AUG 13, 2006
Draught at the brepub. Unfortunately hazy golden coloured. Did they forget to filter it? Or perhaps they just don’t know what a Kölsch is supposed to look like. Even though I am not happy about brewers brewing Kölsch elsewhere than Köln, this brew actually tastes quite good. Grassy hops in the aroma and a dry bitter finish. Refreshing. However, it recieves a lower overall score because of the misuse of the name. Emil (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 10, 2006
Draught at the brewpub. Light hazy yellow colour with a medium white head. Yeasty, malty, hoppy aroma and taste. medium body with that Apollo finish that I just don´t like. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 9, 2006
(On tap) Slightly hazy pilsener golden with a decent head. Vaguely floral hop aroma. Medium body, pilsener malty with the usual raw and brutal Apollo finish. Fuck, I really hope that one day all their stock of bittering hops will burn, burn, burn.... 090806
