Draught @ Bryggeriet Apollo, Vesterbrogade 3, 1620 Copenhagenn, Denmark.yespr (47039) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - DEC 25, 2007
Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark chocolate, toffee, vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, choclate sweet, burnt malt and coffee bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
From tap at the brewpub, listed as Apollo bryggeriets jule stout 7.0%. Pours dark brown yet not cloudy. Head is off-white and fully diminished. Dark roasted malt aroma with a mild butterish note. Very soft mouthfeel with almost no carbonation. Flavour is mildly sweet caramel and roasted malt with a nice liqourice note blending in. A coffee note lingers on top of it all. Finish holds a lingering note of the same but is slowly softend out by a chocolate note and a mild bitterness. Well done. Ungstrup (38242) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2006
A pitch black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma is powerfully roasted combined with strong notes of chocolate, and a bit less oily coffee notes (like unground coffee beans), as well as hints of orange peel. The flavor is very sweet with also with a strong roasted, chocolate and coffee flavor, this time like freshly ground coffee beans, that perfectly balances the sweetness. Towards the end an acidity grows from all the roastiness and settles on the tongue. The final bitterness lasts for a long time. This is very close to the best beer from Apollo ever. joergen (28949) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 8, 2006

(On tap) Completely black and opaque with a very handsome and retentive light brown head leaving a broad rim of lacework. Distinct roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with lots of roasted coffee notes and a distinct burned and ashy edge. A whiff of vanilla. Dry and bitter finish. Perhaps a bit too burned and bitter for my taste, but overal an extremely rich and flavourful Stout. And one of the best offerings from Apollo ever. 110906

@ Sct. Clemens. Pitch black with a dark brown head. Absolutely beautiful. Aroma is roasted malt and a bit of smoke. Flavor is rather sweet and light bitter. The finish is sweet and has a lasting roasted bitterness. Could use a bit more body, but certainly the best I’ve ever had from Sct. Clemens. 050211 saxo (19273) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAR 10, 2010

Druaght at Sct Clemens. ABV 6.2!
Creamy lightbrown fair mostly deminishing head. Powerfull malty aroma. Moderate bitter flavor with strong coffee notes. Average finish. Watery palate and way too fizzy. Not impressed.
