Draught at the brewpub. It said 7% on the blackboard. Black coloured with a creamy and lasting brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and even a hoppy tone. Big roasty and burnt flavour well balanced by softer chocolate and vanilla notes. The finish contains hop bitterness as well as lingering roasty bitterness. Full bodied, well balanced, soft mouthfeel. The best offering from Apollo so far. Ungstrup (37587) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2006
A pitch black beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma is powerfully roasted combined with strong notes of chocolate, and a bit less oily coffee notes (like unground coffee beans), as well as hints of orange peel. The flavor is very sweet with also with a strong roasted, chocolate and coffee flavor, this time like freshly ground coffee beans, that perfectly balances the sweetness. Towards the end an acidity grows from all the roastiness and settles on the tongue. The final bitterness lasts for a long time. This is very close to the best beer from Apollo ever. madsberg (11770) - Søborg, DENMARK - SEP 22, 2006

brewpub. Brown black coloured. Dense light brown head. Light smoked, roasted, spiced and coffee aroma. Flavour is like the aroma but with a bit more power. Chocolate, coffee, roast and cocoa is what comes to mind, and this smoky feeling laying underneath it all. Is quite dry with a medium to full body. Has a rosted coffeeish end. Welll balanced and easy to drink Stout. Apollo yeast notable.
Bottled - haha only kidding - on tap. Pours black as pitch with a small head. Roasted malt with notes of coffee. Round and soft mouthfeel. Hoppy finish. Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 1, 2006
Draught at Apollo. Black - light brown head. A lot of chokolate in the nose. Burned, hopped. Notes of coffee, chokolate, smoke. Dry hopped finish.

From tap at the brewpub, listed as Apollo bryggeriets jule stout 7.0%. Pours dark brown yet not cloudy. Head is off-white and fully diminished. Dark roasted malt aroma with a mild butterish note. Very soft mouthfeel with almost no carbonation. Flavour is mildly sweet caramel and roasted malt with a nice liqourice note blending in. A coffee note lingers on top of it all. Finish holds a lingering note of the same but is slowly softend out by a chocolate note and a mild bitterness. Well done. onystrom (1333) - Magellan Hunter! - Skanderborg, DENMARK - MAR 12, 2010
Tap. Black colour with fine head with good duration. Aroma and taste are dry roast malt, licorice and coffee. Plovmand (8311) - Helsinge, DENMARK - JAN 14, 2011
From growler. Thanks Anker. It pours pitch black with a thick creamy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, coffee and caramel. The flavour is liquorice, coffee, chocolate, caramel and dark fruit. Nice one. Rasmus40 (20645) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2011
@ Sct. Clemens. Pitch black with a dark brown head. Absolutely beautiful. Aroma is roasted malt and a bit of smoke. Flavor is rather sweet and light bitter. The finish is sweet and has a lasting roasted bitterness. Could use a bit more body, but certainly the best I’ve ever had from Sct. Clemens. 050211 Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2006
(On tap) Completely black and opaque with a very handsome and retentive light brown head leaving a broad rim of lacework. Distinct roasted coffee aroma. Medium body with lots of roasted coffee notes and a distinct burned and ashy edge. A whiff of vanilla. Dry and bitter finish. Perhaps a bit too burned and bitter for my taste, but overal an extremely rich and flavourful Stout. And one of the best offerings from Apollo ever. 110906
