Good to be #10. Bottle from Berkeley Bowl West. Pours dark gold with a creamy/foamy white head. Aroma is a bit whiskey. Med body or so. Flavor is quite whiskey with some musty oak and a kind of dustiness. In total I'm thinking like red wine barrels. A little bready. I think the buckwheat is showing. Rather mild in flavor, but somewhat sophisticated and tasty.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a small head. Fruity whiskey barrel taste and aroma. Really tasty.

*Bottle from Schneiders Getränke, Köln. Grainy sweetish beginning, the whisky with its wood and mild vanilla aroma fits in great. The beer is grainy sweetish, but the woody whisky covers this, integrating it into a nice wood-vanilla-smooth sweetish grain-picture, that has not much bitterness and ins really enjoyable.

Draft. Amber gold pour. Aroma is grainy. Spice and orange. Mild whisky. Flavor is sweet malty some whiskey vanilla oak. This is a nice one.

Clear golden with a thin sticky white cap. Brisk semidry earthy whiskey nose with a light bit of wood char and a pale German malt background to it. Big flavor that’s almost like whiskey without the burn, but has a good dose of whiskey tempered by bready German malt sweetness, a little wood, and a light earthy tone to keep it from being too sweet or too whiskeyed. Kinda nice but a bit two dimentional.

stevoj (5748) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 5, 2017
Bottle from Boise Co-op. Pours out a nice dark gold with a mile high rocky head, a bit of haze from some suspended solids and sediment. Dark, musty rye type aroma with some wooden notes. Dinkel grain also drives the taste, slightly dark and sour, bready, and the barrel aging plays a minor role in the background adding some wooden taste and a few boozy notes. More sourness at the finish. Nice to try a dinkel bier again, its been a while. Only knock is a fast finish.

Sampled @ BKL 2017. Trübes goldgelbes Bier mit einer mittelgroßen weißen Schaumkrone. Geruch holzig, getreidig süß malzig. Geschmack süß malzig, Eiche, Vanille.

SinH4 (6403) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - FEB 11, 2017
Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is fresh wood, some bananas, grainy, bready. Taste is bananas, wood, a bit dusty, grainy. Soft mouthfeel. Nicely drinkable.

Koelschtrinker (21850) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JAN 11, 2017
Wässriger, wenig malziger Antrunk. Leichte Hefenoten, moderat herb. Mehr oder weniger keine Holzigkeit. Muss nicht sein. 12/7/8/6/8/6
