3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Slight smokey smell. Looks average. The taste isn’t memorable. This beverage has potential, the malts are descent quality. Overall I didnt enjoy the blended styles.
Pours a dark brown color with a small creamy beige head. Nose is mostly dark malt with a decidedly roasted note. Flavor is roasted malt with hints of burnt caramel, dark chocolate and light hops. Some boozy notes, but nicely balanced overall. A bit Porter-like. tgncc (3145) - Bellmore, New York, USA - DEC 19, 2014
At Fegleys Brewfest. The Roma is sweet, brown sugar. The flavor is also sweet, brown sugar, no hops, not like a porter. Enjoyable beverage. Damico (3150) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 13, 2014
Pours dark brownish unclear with a light caramel head. Aroma is sweet thick light lime like citrus orange juice notes. Flavor is piney and zesty citrus hops that end with spicy rye flavors. obxdude10 (2366) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 8, 2014
On draft in Collegeville and very tasty. The beer poured a very, very dark brown color with a nice-sized brown head. The nose featured some chocolate, cream and light hops. The mouthfeel was perfectly smooth with flavors of cream, light hops, chocolate, a hint of alcohol, some bready yeast and a hint of licorice. radio_nowhere (1474) - Maryland, USA - NOV 1, 2014
Draft at the Gettysburg-Gateway brewpub, served in a pint glass. Deep murky brown color with off-white head. Aroma of deep caramel malt, molasses, some chocolate, slight nuttiness, grain and dark dried fruits (raisins, figs) notes. Taste adds roasted malt, toast, brown sugar, toffee and faint coffee. Heavy-moderate body, moderate-low carbonation, rich, creamy with sweet roasty finish. Two beers combined to almost resemble a sweet stout, quite nice.

Served on tap in a chalice glass
Appearance – The beer is served deep copper-brown color with a one finger head of off white foam. The head has a moderate level of retention fading slowly to leave some streaky lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a caramel and molasses sweet smell mixed with a darker fruit smell of cherry and raisin. Along with these aromas is a bit of a bready smell as well as a very light spice smells and a bit of vanilla rounding it all out.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter and more roasted flavor with a good level of caramel and toffee. Some of the sweeter flavors develop further by darkening in nature, taking on more brown sugar and molasses like flavors. Along with the darkening of sugars, so too comes some darker fruit flavors of a plum and fig nature. A little bit more roasted and chocolate flavor come to the tongue as the flavor moves onto the end. Along with a little bit of an alcohol booziness, the finish of the taste leaves a rather nice warming taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is thick and full with a carbonation level that is rather low. Both are nice for the roasted and sweet flavors of the brew and create a mouth coating feel that baths the tongue in all the flavors.
Overall – A rather tasty winter warmer. A nice flavorful and enjoyable brew and one to try if you have a chance.

Cask at Appalachian, Collegeville, 29/11/13.
Mid black with a good sized tan head.
Nose is roast malt, chocolate streak, toffee fudge, light booze notes, earthy, brown bread.
Taste comprises bitter dark chocolate, brown sugars, chocolate biscuit, toffee fudge.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, light woody boozey vein at the business end.
Ok stuff, though this came over more as a stout possibly of the imperial variety.
