This is a decently drinkable ESB. It’s the greatest, but not the worst I’ve sampled. The beer pours a dark copper color with a small off-white head. The head leaves some lacing around the glass. The nose was a little odd, because I smelled a hint of dirty socks in the aroma. I also got some slightly spicy hops. The body was smooth, drinkable and fairly well-balanced, with notes of dry and spicy hops, caramel malt, toast and bread. The finish is a little more bitter than the actual flavors. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber red with a thin white head. Aroma of lots of fruits, especially apple skins. Flavor of sweet malt, light spicy hops, and plenty of sweet fruits with a touch of floral notes. Ok, but it’s sweet.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep caramel brown with a medium sized beige head. Coffee and roast, gentle caramel and a bit of hops. Lots of toast and roast. Coffee and toast. Big roast, malt. On tap, Hbg location. Pours a clear amber body with a small creamy beige head that fell to a thin film leaving tons of thick heavy lacing. A litttle grape soda fruitiness on the nose with minimal hops and a little toasted malt. That weird grape soda note is in the flavor as well up front. The leafy hops dominate the finish over a toasty malt base. Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation and a dry slightly husky finish. Overall, I was turned off by that weird grape smell and flavor quite a bit.

On tap at Appalaichan brewpub. Good aroma; sticky honey malt. Coppery with light white head. Has a malty, sweet, yeast dough flavor. Lightl hopped. This one was nice and hoppy but still mild and subdued at the same time. Lots of flowery hops. Another good one from ABC.
