Some caramel aroma with a definite flowery presence. Malt sweetness with light hop bitterness. Sweet toffee finish blooms late in the aftertaste and detracts. Moderate carbonation. mwelsh13 (499) - Maryland, USA - APR 20, 2009
Growler from Gettysburg pours medium amber with red highlights. Creamy tanish head quickly forms a ring. Toffee, butter and malty breadiness in the aroma. Medium body with a slight grassy hop bitterness and big malty body. A glass of grain! Pine in there too. Quite sessionable. On tap, Harrisburg location. Pours a dark copper with a reddish tinge under a small creamy white head of decent retention. Aroma is sweet caramel malts under a light floral hoppiness. Flavor is a little thin, grassy hops up front with a crackery crystal malt base. Finish is lightly fruity. Mouthfeel is light bodied with fizzy active carbonation. A decent session brew, nothing out of the ordinary, but a decent 11 am beer. jcwattsrugger (12524) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - MAY 22, 2006

I had this over the summer when I first went to thier abbey bar upstairs. Celtic red was a nice lgiiht bodied amber ale, although I couldtn see anything resembling a dubble as it is listed here- which Im assuming is a mistake. Mostly jsut a plain amber wiht some sweet caramel malts and light bitterness. Easy drinking.
