3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
At the brewery; amber with nice head and good lacing. Good aroma with malt and hoppy, earthy and slightly sour. The hops are slightly cirtus and piney and I found a light malt character with a slight roasted flavor which gave a lighter body than I expect in an IPA. The finish is smooth, though I think a bit too smooth. This is a very drinkable beer and I look forward to another trip to Harrisburg to try the next batch.
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2017 Tap at Hilton, CLT. Aroma is light hops. Color is Med amber, clear, thin white head that disappears. Little lacing. Not a lot of flavor, but the bitterness is pretty smooth. Good drinking beer. Nothing to go took far out of the way for. LetsGoState (906) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 24, 2017
Taste is light and refreshing, but lacks enough hops and complexity. Overall just OK. BuckeyeBoy (8204) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 24, 2016
On tap at Appalachian Brewing. Pours out a clear crisp amber topped with a sand head. Nose is nice pine floral hops and bread malt. Taste is more of the floral pine citrus notes and some bread. Block (2894) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - AUG 21, 2016
A little stronger than their others beers which I’ve head. Some hops in the nose, a little in the finish, typical sweet body. BytesAndBrews (66) - - AUG 6, 2016
Hop forward aroma with a hint of pine. Light amber with a creamy white head. Good hop flavor with a touch of grapefruit and pine.

On tap clear amber thick white head. Aroma of pine and hops. It’s pretty mellow for an ipa. Good finish with hint of hoppy bitter Ernest (7748) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 7, 2016
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is murky dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, ), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot), with notes of plastic, diacetyl, spoiling fruit juice. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Well, that’s 3 strikes for ABC...I didn’t rate the Jolly Scot, but that, this, and the Mountain Lager have all been very dirty and poorly made drain pours. Oh well. Sirmixsomewhat (266) - Paoli, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 14, 2015
I’m not as crazy about this IPA as I am about the Outta Focus. It’s hoppier than I tend to like and it’s kind of bitter on the aftertaste, but it’s not awful. Dacrza (1010) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - NOV 15, 2015
DATE TASTED: November 15, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Barley Creek pint.. OCCASION: recovering from the family football game--I threw three INTs!--and a much less enjoyable Browns loss... APPEARANCE: rather light. bronze/copper body that shows reasonable effervescence; nearly clear; slight, fuzzy off-white head that holds to a swampy halo ... AROMA: resinous first impression; pear, wheat grass, some citrus, and melon; very little malts to speak of.... PALATE: fizzy, light and lively at the teeth; short at the finish, with a muted, astringent mouthfeel; medium-bodied and drinkable... TASTE: the resin is clear, mingling with citrus like grapefruit and orange peel...the maltiness presents itself more in the taste than in the nostril or palate; a reasonable sourness ensues... OVERALL: aptly named, ably fulfilling its hoppy promise, with a serviceable 6.2 ABV and a pleasant if not unmemorable profile...

Bottle. Honey color with off-white head and some lacing. Earthy, resiny citrus hop aroma. Caramel and pine and orange-citrus hops upfront. Earthy and piny, mouthcoating finish.
