Draft notes from Collegeville 2Q 2011. Poured hazy deep copper with 1-finger off-white head into a 3-goblet set with the other two varietal single IPAs on a specially made laminated guide sheet underneath. Nose was resiny and floral hops, caramel malt. Tasted resiny hoppy with some bitterness and a pretty big caramel malt bill. Good complexity and a very enjoyable IPA. Hazy gold with fading creamy white head. Medium bodied. Aroma is very floral, slight malt. This one nails the balance. Equally floral and citrusy in flavor up front, smooth, with only light, but distinguished, clean malt presence. A touch of biting bitterness. Yum! A fine IPA and still very unique as a single-hop variety. I wish I could have tasted the Simcoe and Horizon varieties the last time around. j12601 (11840) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 27, 2011
On tap at Appalachian. Pours a clear orange with a thin to medium sized white head. Soft and musky, dusty, faint tropical fruit. Long bright citrus, subdued tropical fruit, big and sticky sweet caramel. Lots of sweet malt, long earthy bitterness.
