This flavorful sweet ale has a smooth malt finish balanced against a light hop flavor. This beer is very quaffable and has become a brewpub favorite throughout the United States.

one if ABCs better offerings. a nice dark nut brown with a bready malt nose.

lots of malt with overtones of chocolate, bread pudding and vanilla.
a slight peaty acidity in the finish.

Not normally my style beer, but it was offered to me. Not bad. Is not as smokey as other Scottish I've tried. Once was enough.

Eh ... not much to this one. Pleasant and lightly smokey ... but barely. Not something to write home about either way.

if it's not scottish... it's crap! And while this avoids the crap level, it does so only barly. My overwhelming impression was that this beer was way too lite for what i was expecting.

Scottish ale is such a fun, generous style, that I really cannot excuse a brewer for failing to make a near-perfect beer in the style. This one is not near perfect. Of course, it's not bad, either. Some rich malt with strawberry notes, which as a whole grows tiresome as I drink the pint. The wateriness comes out as the glass is drained. Decent beer, but Scottish Ale should deliver more.

Surprisingly not bad. Actually had some good flavor. Sweet, malty, like a good scottish ale but slightly toned down. Some hops in the finish. Not bad.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2003 This beer rocks!
It's crystal clear with a beautiful copper hue. Small, fizzy, khaki-colored head which is fully diminishing and leaves no lacing.
The aroma is extremely rich with huge notes of English milk chocolate, butter, caramel and English toffee. Toasted cashews arise in the nose as an afterthought.
The flavor is very rich and malty up front. It's like drinking a fizzy, liquid Cadbury's Caramello bar. Balanced perfectly on the backside via a very nice hop addition.
Lightly medium-bodied with a creamy yet fizzy mouthfeel. Very lengthy, crisp & clean finish with lingering notes of chocolate and clover. Rose pedals at the very wee end... strange, but true.
Interesting and tasty Scottish Ale! World Class beer and one of my favorites. Highly recommended for MaltHeads!!!

This is a decent Scottish Ale. Not very sweet however, which leaves it with a soft taste.

Not a bad interpretation of a Scottish Ale. In fact, very good.............
