UPDATED: AUG 6, 2016 Pours dark clear amber with light tan head. Smells of sweet malt and something I can?t put my finger on. It?s very smooth. Start. And finish. Very light hops. Very drinkable. Not really a Scottish ale by style. But good shrubber85 (11324) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUN 11, 2016
Bottle. Earthy toffee malt and straw aroma. Brown with small head. Moderately sweet toffee malt and mildly bitter hay flavor. Decent body. A decent malt-forward beer.

Hazy, reddish amber-brown with a very thin beige head.
Caramel, berry aroma.
Taste is sweet.....toffee malt, a little tangy fruit/berry.....almost sticky.
Pretty good, but not much peat or smokiness. Sirmixsomewhat (266) - Paoli, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 10, 2015
This is a good beer. Full bodied and full of flavor, it doesn’t get in the way of what you’re eating and it’s really smooth on the finish. After about a week in the fridge, though, it had lost significant head and carbonation. I was pretty bummed to see how it didn’t keep very long. DATE TASTED: November 28, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Victory HopDevil nonick... OCCASION: Cavs/Nets nail-biter after the lighting of our Christmas tree... APPEARANCE: dark amber body, reminiscent of a black and tan; thin, off-white head that holds to a balanced disc... almost too dense to detect effervescence... AROMA: malt-forward, with fruity hops suggesting cherries making for a nuanced aroma; traces of peat, but the sweetness of toasted malts rides the nostrils... PALATE: medium-bodied, textured and warming; a sessionable feel at 5.2%... slightly active at the teeth, with a paradoxically soft, lingering aftertaste... resisting the urge to suggest cola, but it has the bubble and late fizz... TASTE: light in this aspect, with some toasted bread malts and a touch of smoky peat.. otherwise, a blunted, malted end...some nutty flavor, like hazelnut, as well... OVERALL: a pleasant, easy-drinking pint that can easily be seen as "brewpub favorite," as the company line states...a great match for a rainy night such as this...
