Gently smoky molasses aroma with a little red fruit. Opaque orange-black under a persistent tan cover and lace. Sweet, toasted hazelnuts and dried fruit and dark chocolate bar flavour with a not quite assertive bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body, medium carbonation, crisp and dry in the end. Meh, watery, dark, and very malty. I’ve had better, and worse... I’m probably not going to ever order this again (I feel this way about a number of beers at ABC...) hellbilly (3247) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUL 23, 2012

Pours dark brown with thin fine tan/brown head that dissipates to nothing quickly. Smells evenly of chocolate, roastiness, coffee, and refreshing hops. Flavor: the sweet chocolate hits first, then comes a nice mild roastiness that’s more like the burnt stuff on marshmallows than coffee, and after a couple sips you get the refreshing hops, which I might even relate to mint in the context. Both substantially tasty and quaffable. Everlything I like about dark beers can be found here. tronraner (2459) - Walland, Tennessee, USA - FEB 16, 2009
Growler from the Camp Hill location, consumed within a few hours of the fill. Pours ruby hued dark brown with tan head. The aroma is ashy with some chocolate, caramel, and marshmellow. The flavor is ash, roasty coffee, and a little bit of toffee. Some earthy hops and a few anise notes come out later. Smooth drinker, though not mindblowing. f351c4v (411) - Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 8, 2009
Pours a very dark brown with a lacing, off white head. Graham crackers and chocolate on the aroma. Sweet, with hints of ground, roasted coffee, bitter finish. Very nice.
