Pours a deep black with a medium sized beige head. Lovely coffee aromas. Smells like an iced coffee. Roast and malt, lightly sweet, oatmeal. Smooth and gentle roast coffee, long and smooth bitterness. Lovely lingering coffee flavors on the finish. The best brew on my 8 brew sampler that day.

From the brewery in Lititz, PA, this pours a healthy black into the glass, with a nice eggshell-tan head that leaves webbed lacing. The nose is of definitive espresso notes with a hint of vanilla. Flavors are dominated by roasted coffee, spent grains, espresso shots, finishing with an espresso hit and roasted black coffee beans. The mouthfeel is a touch thin for the style, even a dry stout, and needs just a bit more body to fill out the mouthfeel perfectly. Lots of great flavors going on here. I just wish there was a bit more substance to bring all of the complexities together. Other than that, it’s a great example of a style which is all the rage now. Light black with a good sized tan covering that dissipates somewhat but retains.
Nose carries a big espresso roasty blast, earthy cocoa, biscuit crumble, brown sugars.
Taste comprises earthy cocoa, good coffee character, dark toffee fudge, roast malt.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation with moderate roastings.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2012 750ml on sale at bottle store. Poured into snifter glass dark black, thin tan head. Aroma of rich espresso, dark chocolate, nuts and roasty malts. Taste is sweet and bitter. Light body is creamy and has a dry finish. Bomber shared by argo0. Thanks! Pours a clear dark brown color with a thin tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of rich roast coffee notes, faint sweet malts and dark chocolate. The taste is dry roasted coffee. Astringent and a little green, sadly. Medium bodied.
