12oz bottle from Canals Rio Grande. Poured an alright looking reddish/dark brown with a foamy beige head. Aroma is nut shells, brown bread, toast, crusts, leaves, bark and earth. Flavor is the same with a bit of dry old maple syrup. Medium to full body with sort of strong carbination and a little bit of heat on the backend when it warms up. This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy semi-dark brown color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white to off white foamy head that dissipated and barely left any lacing.
The smell had a decent amount of light roasted nuts a super light caramel malts.
The taste was mainly malty sweet with a long glazed over caramel nutty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat smooth as it allowed a gentle rolling nuttiness over my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good American Brown Ale. The hops seemed pretty subdued but I’m okay with that. klk343 (162) - - MAR 8, 2015

On tap at the Harrisburg brew pub. Pours a hazy amber with some cloudy white head. Nose is super mild, cracker, brown sugar, caramel, mild root veg. Flavor has a lot of sweetness, caramel, brown sugar, malt, cracker, toast. Crisp finish.

Appearance – Pours a mahogany brown color with a big and thick cream colored head. The head has a fantastic level of retention, slowly fading to leave a good level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a chocolate and caramel smells. Mixed with these are aromas of some roasted malt and a light aroma of a nutty nature.
Taste – The beer is drier then I would have expected from the nose. The taste begins with a roasted malt and lighter caramel sweetness. From the initial roasted malt, which creates a base for the taste of the beer, comes an increase in the caramel sweetness and some flavors of brown sugar. These sugar tastes get strongest at the middle and begins fading more toward the end. From the middle to the end, while the sugar flavors are fading, come flavors of nut and some hop flavors of an earthy and herbal flavor come into the taste. These flavors take the taste to its end where they leave a lightly bittered roasted flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the slightly thinner to average side in its creaminess with a carbonation level being rather average. The medium body and carbonation made it rather easy drinking, although a slightly lower level of carbonation may have been more appropriate for the roasted and nutty flavors of the brew.

Good deep brown pour that has a mocha head that leaves lacing. The aroma has some faint chocolate & roasted notes. The taste has some good unusual depth for a brown - well balanced between chocolate & hops. The body is a touch thin but this beer is drinkable & sessionable. Pretty good! Dark mahogony brown.
Nose is caramel, brown sugars, dark malt notes, pinch of cocoa powder.
Taste comprises cake mix, brown sugar, dark toffee fudge.
Medium body, fine carbonation, dry finale with a sweet note or two.
So - so, drinkable and representative of a dull style in my opinion - others are of course are available !
