Volks Weizenbock combines the strong malty component of a bock bier with the tangy, spiciness of the Hefe Weizen. This beer is brewed 1 1/2 times stronger than our Hefe Weizen and is aged commensurately longer for extra smoothness! Volks Weizenbock is "The Peoples Beer"!

22 oz. bottle from michael-pollack- thanks again, Pollack! Pours a cloudy, dull, orange-gold-amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of banana, nuts, raisins, sweet bready malts, caramel, and clove. The flavor follows the same lines- sweet, fruity, and malty- with a little brown sugar and cola. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet, malty, fruity mouthfeel. Very solid weizen bock, even better than Id expected.

3fourths (9299) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 30, 2007
Draft pint at Appalachain in Harrisburg. Poured from the tap a very cloudy (muddy) brown with little to no head. Heavy on the candied banana, sharp alcohol, sharply astringent malts and soggy bread and toast notes up front, with a similar smell. The body on this completely falls apart over the middle, and it finishes with more simple candied banana flavors and a strikingly astringent grain husk note. The alcohol is far too apparent for something of this weight, and overall its just unappealing in all respects.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7489) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 13, 2011
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-brown color with a large creamy beige head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was sourdough bread, brown sugar, lemon, clove, cherry and a hint of nutmeg. The flavor was tangy and citric with notes of clove, brown sugar, cherry, sourdough bread, nut and faint hints of anise and nutmeg. The finish was long with sourdough, brown sugar and cherry lingering. Fairly full bodied. Excellent.
