Bottle. This particular moonshine barrel ROPA was my favorite Lithuanian beer ever. When the last bottles in my stash started turning sour, I left them in my cellar to age for 2 years. The result is an absolutely amazing sour, somewhere in between oud bruin and darker geuze examples. The classic brett and pediococus fruity, floral and barnyard aromas mixed with wood, dried fruit and brandy along hints of vanilla, chocolate and toffee. This is my last bottle, and I’m both elated and sad. Cheers, Martynai, this one is simply superb! One of the best sours I’ve ever had! suurjuust (3897) - ESTONIA - DEC 17, 2016

Is that a worm trying to get out of the bottle? Nice orangey red, small tight head. Pleasantish sweet caramelly aroma, but some odd sorachi-like aspects, a certain level of barrel sourness. Slightly thin malty taste, just some caramel, and some slight woody sourness. Woody butter finish. I did enjoy it, but it wasn’t a great beer.
Bottle (shared by philduk, thanks), bb 2016.08.01. Pours amber with beige head. Aroma is sweet, friity, citrus, malt,. Flavor is sweet and bitter, fruits, citrus, malt, booze. Carbonation is rather high. Finish is fruity and boozy. Overall: ok. Marduk (8830) - Reval, ESTONIA - AUG 6, 2016
330ml bottle (Vingiu, Kaunas). Slightly hazy amber color. Medium size, off-white head, stays. Fruity, sweet, farmhouse, yeasty, berries in aroma. Toast, cinnamon, crust, malty, sweet, fruity and yeasty in taste. Fizzy carbonation. Can’t quite get the moonshine. Sweet, coconut in aftertaste. Drinkable brew.
