From 16oz can. Aroma of fresh bread, mild toffee. Light amber color with a non existent tan head. Sweet malt up front. Caramel and bread, with a hint of cinnamon.. Light to medium mouth feel, slightly under carbonated. Bitterness is earthy and mild...somewhat balanced on the finish but the end has an off cough syrup flavor? Average...wondering if an off batch? Will try again. ryecatcher (1467) - Bridgeport, Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 30, 2016
Can. Brownish amber pour, smallish (almost nonexistent) head. Malty, caramel, warm toasty nose. Mouth is medium bodied, chewy pumpernickel, malt, figs, raisins, mild underlying bitterness. Solid and sessionable. scarletfire65 (1507) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 24, 2016
Draft at Hackney’s Printers Row. Clear amber pour. Clean and malty, bit of caramel, slate, leafy hops. Not horrible but kind of meh. markducommun (1224) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 27, 2015
Nitro. Clear brown orange, ample white head. Caramel, slight spice. Light malt sweetness, slightly bitter. Chewy, light body. Shorter finish. Fine. andyhwcinc (1886) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 14, 2015
Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed while watching what was probably the craziest baseball play I’ve ever seen. Appearance is a moderate brown with a robust slightly off white head. Aroma is sweet with moderate caramel malt. Taste goes down with a nice malty profile. Decent brew.

Reddish and clear pour from draft at Pastorial. Hardly any head. Light candy vanilla and cherry on the nose. Fruity and wine notes. Smooth and poundable. One of the better ESB I've had Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 24, 2015
A golden amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy hops, light mineral notes, sugar crisp, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, grainy notes, OK. On tap at Binny’s Lincoln Park. DrnkMcDermott (3141) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - FEB 11, 2015
Seven ounce draft taster at Standard Market. Foamy head has settled showing legs around the edge of the glass with a nice brown dark roast ESB color. Light bulb in the nose slight sense of caramel toast malt. In Carbon nation like it’s either on nitro (although the server said it isn’t) or possibly just finished secondary fermentation in the keg. Creamy texture with a proper light mouth feel makes this suited for a session... after shoveling snow. crossovert (13914) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 1, 2014
UPDATED: JUN 27, 2015 Draft. Amberish pour. Light malt and herbal notes all around, the flavor blends into citrus, bitter and dry finish, not sweet at all. it is easy-going and a winner in a style category rarely seen in these parts.
