Keg at the Euston Tap - London. Pours oily black with pretty much no head. Big, thick, with light tangy dark fruits, lots of raisins and liquefied berries. Full bodied with fine, soft carbonation. Black with a moderately appointed dirty tan swirl.
Nose is herbal, liqourice, medicinal ring, dark fruit, spice, rich malt, fruit cake mix.
Taste comprises dark fruits, chocolate, booze, leather, spice, plummy depths, dates, tobacco.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming booze with medicinal pangs in the close.

On tap at the Three Tuns, Bristol Apr 2014. I rate this one as an imperial stout as I detected some recognizable characteristics of one. Pungent scent of roasted and toasted malts, red wine, oxidization. Leather aromas around. Comforting boozy hint. Engine oil-like thick, leaves a long cherished aftertaste. Draught at the Euston Tap, London on 28 March 2014. Poured black with a very small amount of beige head. Aroma of almonds, oak, sticky fruit and booze. Cask conditioned at The Three Tuns, Bristol. Black with cream head. Masses of liquorice, tarmacadam and fruity notes along with a slightly spicy chilli note. The yeast notes do fight their way through bringing a little lightness but overall it is mostly about the darkly roasted malts. Phew.
