Bottle @home (rating backlog). Pours black, thin tan head. Nose is chocolate, dark chocolate, malts, coffee. Taste is more of the same, slight smoke as well, slightly fruity.

Bottle. Pours black. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast malt, coffee and dried fruit. Moderate sweet and bitter. Nice full mouthfeel. Very good.

Bottle, september 18th 2016.Black body with a medium sized head. Aroma of earthy hops and coffee, a nice blend, also some dark chocolate. Herbal roasty taste with a solid bitterness, full bodied, lasting malty choco finish. Very nice.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2017 Birra di colore marrone scuro. Schiuma color caffelatte molto persistente. All’ olfatto note di caffè tostato e moka. Al palato caffè, legno e malto tostato la fanno da padrona. Nel finale rimane lievemente amara con note erbacee che miscelate al caffe risultano un connubio eccezionale. Mediamente strutturata, l’ alcol si sente poco, ben camuffato dalle note tostate. Una birra eccellente da conversazione ma buona anche su una sacher o un tortino al cioccolato.

Bottle, best until 6/14. Thanks Craig! Black. Malt, roast, coffee and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet roasty flavor, velvety, caramel, licorice, coffee. Very low on carbon.has kept very well.

Bottle at home, 9th October 16. Pours thick and black. Aroma is quality coffee, raw bean, cocoa. Taste is coffee bean, bitter and sweet, not overlly, it’s coffee forward, but there are other flavours going on, leather, dark chocolate. The balance is perfect, and the palate is exact for the style and taste. Very good imperial coffee stout.

Fantastica. Sentori intensi di caffè e luppolo resinoso per una birra che sta a metà strada tra una black IPA, per profumo, non per amaro, e una imperial stout. Scaldandosi risalta molto il dolce del malto e forse questa è l’unica pecca di una birra strepitosa.

Black body, with a big, dense, creamy, lacing, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of coffee beans, espresso, liquorice, cocoa powder, some dark chocolate, subtle dark fruits.
Taste follows this pretty much.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes roasty-bitter, dry, wooden, with coffee beans, liquorice, some dark chocolate.

Tasty. Straight, but really well balanced, with lovely coffee notes. Drinks pretty smooth, alcohol is well balanced. Great style example, while not among my favourite ones.
