not, in my opinion, a BIPA but a heavy duty stout!
looks amazing, deep black with massive foamy head.
very bitter and maintains a decent roasty bitterness. some dark fruit also.

Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Black pour with a soon dissipating tan head. Coffee, dark fruit and chocolate aroma. Licorice, toffee, dark fruit flavour with a light citrus zing in the finish. Interesting. sm89walt (2080) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 15, 2012
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2012. Poured a cloudy, near opaque
brown with a small, fading bubbly beige head. Lovely juicy citrus fruit aromas of grapefruit with resin & pine too & touches of roasted malt. Drier flavour-wise with more roasted malts, pine, liquorice & berry skin. Medium body, firm & lightly carbonated palate texture with a lingering dry, resinous bitterness. swooper (1247) - Cambridge and Kladno(Czech Rep.), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - OCT 20, 2012
bottle, awesome rocky stable brown head, black, coffee, roasty, with hoppy hinds, very dry bitterness, medium sweetness, full body, thick feel, soft carbonation, on of the richest beers I ve had for last year, maybe lack of drinkability, cant drink four of these a night but thats not a mission of this brilliant beer. mike_77 (7020) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - DEC 3, 2012
Aroma has some notes of pear drops and some burnt malts and charcoal. The flavour comes through in the aftertaste with some bitter chocolate and intense coffee.

Cola colour, small head. Aroma roast meat, grapefruit, caramel, bread, pine, grass. Taste is initially sweet toffee, pine, licorice, then bitter grapefruit and lime and finishes with charred meat. Medium bodied. Very flavourful, quite good. fonefan (50701) - VestJylland, DENMARK - OCT 11, 2012

Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, salty, roasted, licorice, citrus. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, chocolate, citrusy hops, and lemons, leading to a bitter finish. faroeviking (11119) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - JAN 9, 2013
Botella. Black colour, small beige head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt and hops, really nice. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly roasty malty with citrussy hops, some chocolate and a good above medium bitterness. Yum! The_Bish (1123) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2012
At last a review in real time, still have backlog, but I’m getting there. I’ve got a looooooong taste of coins in my mouth. Coins that have been left at the bottom of a caffetiere for a month to linger in the remains of resins coffee. It goes on and on and on.
