Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a cloudy orangey brown with a tiny off-white head. A little roasty, caramellish aroma - not many traces of the American hops. Medium body, caramel and subtle roast, slightly phenollic with a bitter finish. A licorice touch - but not really overly aromatic. 221112 Beersiveknown (5300) - NORTHERN IRELAND - OCT 24, 2012

Watermelon, coffee, chocolate, roasty malty, dark chestnut colour.
Bottle at the Victoria, Birmingham. Some coffee notes, APA mouthfeel and hops build through the finish, which is pretty tangy. Feels slightly heavy and over bitter on finish, but a solid, hoppy, UK interpretation of a style which has itself been rebooted by the America. BenH (3434) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 16, 2012
Bottle. Brown with tan head. Aroma has grapefruit, chocolate, coffee, burnt toast. Similar taste, citrus grapefruit with subtle coffee and chocolate. Creamy texture, smooth. Very nice, leaning towards a brown ipa planky84 (3428) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 20, 2012
Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Reddish brown pour with a beige head. Nice nose.Chocolate, vanilla and dark fruit aroma. Flavours of milk chocolate, tobacco and malts. Quite flat. Not too bad but not as good as I hoped given that nice aroma.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 14/06/2012. Mahogany with a reddish tinge and tight, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of caramel, red fruits and roasted malts, with some grassy hops. Flavour was similarly sweet, with added chocolate, more fruit and a gently bitter finish with a hint of citrus. Very drinkable.
