COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Batch 1000 Smoked Lager has a rich and robust flavor, medium body, and about 5.5% alcohol. It is a copper gold beer with smoky notes in the aroma. If you’ve never tried a smoked beer, the flavor is unlike any beer you’ve ever had. It’s like a smoky scotch without the burn – or Canadian bacon without the pig. The flavor is a complex blending of sweet smoked malt and crisp German hops.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of meat, bacon, smoky notes, some hints of caramel, toffee, touch of pine notes in there as well with a roasted quality. Taste is a mix of bread, caramel, smoke, meaty, campfire flavors into some slight ash, hints of red fruits, finishing bitter.

Draft at ABC. Dark copper with a dense head. Lots of smokey/meaty aromas. Similar flavors but nice a light bodied.

On tap at MBGSF 2013 as just "Smoked Lager." Pours a caramel brown with a white ring of a head. Aroma is a pretty simple smokiness. Smoky wood and caramel malts in the flavor with a clean lager palate. It’s decent.

MiBG Summer Fest 2009, Saturday Session: Deep mahogany hue with a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is quite nice and inviting with smoky woody malts vapours along with caramel, plum, fig, and grassy hops esters. The taste had great smoky tones of wood and meat with a malty sweet backbone leading towards a snappy bitter finish. Long woody aftertaste. The mouth feel is chewy and soft with a warming trend. Outstanding and my favorite from the fest, get ya some.

On tap at the brewery. Semi hazy dark amber or copper with small beige head. Big and meaty smoke aroma with dry roast. Flavor is much the same with delicious smoke and sweeter toasted, munich malts. Medium and creamy body. Pretty great.

Had this brew at G.A.B.F. 08'. Aroma reminds me of bacon frying. Color is a light golden/amber with a thick tight head. Starting with a light body it goes down easy then a smoky pork taste, its like drinking liquid bacon. This is a good brew, its very interesting and unique.

On tap at brewery. Smokey smell like smoked whitefish minus the fish. Initial flavor is sweet and smoky then it is dominated, in a good way, by a smoky meaty flavor. It finishes slightly bitter and fades back to the smoky campfire taste. Overall a great smoked beer.

Wow--the ultimate smoked beer! I’ve had smoked beers before, but this one is tops! Pours pretty normal-lager-looking but with a solid smokey smell. The flavor hits you ever harder--it’s like drinking the complete essence of a campfire. I don’t automatically assume bacon or meat, but definitely campfire. One might not think a smoked beer sounds appealing, but I would definitely recommend people to give it a try anyway, and you may be pleasantly surprised. This one was amazing!

The ultimate bacon beer. Liquid smoke, meat juice, and a little malt vinegar bring visions of pork products dancing in my head. Light body, and honestly quite smooth. Not for vegetarians.

tap at brewpub - Pours amber with a thin head. It certainly smells smoky. The flavor is kind of like smoked sausage, but I didn’t find the smoke overpowering like I have in a couple smoked beers. The sweet malts balanced the smoke. The finish is pretty much all smoke. Very good.
