Cask ale, half-pint, shared with Finn at Three Tuns. Clear copper coloured body, clingy lacing from a beige head. Plain brown malty nose. Rounded malt-fruity flavours with caramel and herbal hops. Prolonged bittersweet ending. Clean on the swallow. Likable bitter version. (Sunday pub crawl in Bristol 30.04.2017).

Cask at The Albion in Kingston. Toffee and caramel malt, lightly hopped to give a nice balance, plenty of citrus fruit without being overpowering. Lovely session ale.

Overdraft, Shirley. Malty delight. I love beers that focus on the malt. There’s a decent hop finish to balance the deep and heady maltiness. More beers like thus please.

Cask at The Hop Inn, Newcastle-Under-Lyme. A clear red amber colour with a creamy off white head. Aroma of caramel, boiled sweets, slightly herbal, some red berries and spicy hops. Taste of fruity malt, red berries, some raspberry, caramel and spicy, herbal hops. Medium bodied and a slick texture. A dry, herbal fruit finish. A sweetish, fruity bitter with tasty hop flavours. A decent session beer.
