On tap - Ashley’s in Westland, MI. Very strong coffee beer. Smooth finish. Very satisfied. 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 29, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours a dark shinny coffee black, a thinner full viscosity, with a thick creamy foamy tan froth. Aroma is fairly nice of coffee beans, some nice sugar and cream aroma as well, pleasant roast. Flavor is strong of coffee with a bit of cream and sugar, full flavored, roasty but fairly soft overall, a nice clean roast flavor in the finish that I wish was more present upfront. Cookie dough and very bitter coffee aftertaste. Medium thinner bodied, creamy oily mouth-feel, harsh sizzling carbonation. Pretty nice. Has a bit of a berry and banana thing going on too, as well as just a subtle hint of infection... oh Arbor... RAYBOY01 (2010) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 26, 2009
Roasty aroma, chocolate and coffee...maybe a touch of sourness hinted at. Pours a very dark brown with exuberant tan head. Flavor is chocolate and coffee with roasted grain and a hint in the background of sour tartness that probably doesn’t belong there. The too-thin body distracts from the fairly robust flavors. Some roast aroma. Black and very fruity with a crisp dry and slightly bitter roast finish. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 23, 2009
Dark brown with a mammoth brown head that fades in chunks as quick as can be leaving no real lace. Aroma of molasses, caramel, coffee, roasted grains, chocolate and coffee. Taste of uh, infection. Roasted malt, sour off-putting notes, light cherry and mild coffee. Finishes up dry, acidic and a bit chalky.

Bottle. 0paque dark brown with a fizzy cola like light brown head. Aroma is brewed coffee, with light chocolatey notes. Flavor is very coffee oriented with a bitter roast flavor, some chocolatey notes. Thin and light bodied, with a high level of carbonation.

Has a dark brown and black pour with a tan and dark chocolate bubbled small head, little drabs of sediment at the bottom of the bottle, leaves very little lacing on the glass, aroma of strong coffee (and hints of green coffee or burnt coffee?), dark roasted malt, some dark bitter chocolate, faint licorice and a vegetable fragrance(?), anyway, there is some off smell on the nose, flavor of strong coffee, some chocolate, and dark roasted malt, the flavors do blend well, mouth feel is a little less than medium, if the aroma did not have that little offensiveness this beer would have had a better rating, deyholla (11908) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 2, 2009
On tap at the MBG Summer Festival. Poured black with a brown head. Aroma was dominated by coffee notes and was quite one note. Flavor was full of coffee as well but somewhat one note. Headbanger (4012) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUL 24, 2009
12oz bottle 7/24/09 (Siciliano’s Market-Grand Rapids)-Pours a dark brown almost black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, malt, and slight chocolate. Taste of malt, slight bitterness, and slight tart. Tastes like it is infected. This medium to full bodied brew is another so so brew from these guys.

Bottle. A super dark brown color pour with a huge lasting tan head , some light spotty lacing left , medium carbonation. Aroma of coffee, dark roasted malt, and sweet dark chocolate. Flavor is a nice balance of malt ,strong coffee, and bittersweet chocolate , no apparent hop flavors. Medium to full body , creamy mouthfeel with a light bitter coffee/chocolate finish , very drinkable and something I would buy again , better than expected .
