Botella. Black colour, small beige head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt and hops, really nice. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly roasty malty with citrussy hops, some chocolate and a good above medium bitterness. Yum! richc (239) - Bolton, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - AUG 7, 2012
Massive chocolate and coffee on the nose, not very IPA but very pleasant. Pitch Black with a solid cream head. Roastiness and bitterness dominate the flavour with a little spicy hop flavour hiding in there. An interesting beeer but I don’t think I’d try it very often.... At last a review in real time, still have backlog, but I’m getting there. I’ve got a looooooong taste of coins in my mouth. Coins that have been left at the bottom of a caffetiere for a month to linger in the remains of resins coffee. It goes on and on and on. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 15, 2012

Bottle at Leighton’s Euro Semi-Final tasting. It pours cloudy deep brown, with a bubbly tan head. The nose is chocolate, caramel, pine, treacle and dark tangy fruit. The taste is dark tangy fruit, caramel, citrus pith, pine, resin, charcoal, roasted malt, treacle, bitter chocolate and burnt malt, with a charry, burnt finish. Medium-full body and average carbonation. A solid black IPA. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2012
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours an almost opaque dark brown with a vague reddish hue and a small beige head. Sweet roasty nose with some greasy and citrusy hops blending in. Medium body, very bitter roast, very bitter - and greasy - hops. Charry and bitter finish. A little to the rough side. 301112 BenH (3431) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 2, 2012
Bottle. Black with a big light brown head that doesn’t budge. Aroma is massively soapy, some grapefruit, citrus, pine, chocolate and coffee but soap is the order of the day. Taste is again dominated by soap but when broken down also has grapefruit, chocolate and coffee. Thick with a fair bitterness and a lingering chocolate finish. A nice big robust beer with some very nice elements but the soapiness is hard to overcome
