Bottle at home. A clear orange / amber coloured pour with a lively off white frothy head. Aroma is earthy saison yeast, straw, semi sweet, little orange rind, light lavender. Light alcohol on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of semi sweet base malts with a little biscuit, saison yeast, hints of earth and banana, orange rind. Palate is high carbonation, frothy, Little alcohol bite in the finish.

568ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. A bright amber pour with a loose cream head and very lively carbonation; pleasant yeast aroma with some corriander; lively in the mouth with a lip-smacking corriander taste; and a clean dry finish with some gingery spice and a trace of caramel. A substantial, satisfying beer - I suspect this would be a perfect match for a fiery curry, but unfortunately I don’t have one to hand at the moment.

Spices, farmhouse, bread dough, grain and cereal malts. Clear, dark gold, small, creamy, off-white head. Light sweet. More sweet grain malts, caramel, yeast, spices, soft carbonation, medium body. OK Saison, nice spices. Keg at Mad Squirrel, Amersham.

Gravicask (CWAF2017)
Belgian yeast aroma, sweet, a bit eggy and farty. Sweet smooth palate. Full and sweet sugary stickiness. Spicy belgian taste, clearly some corriander seeds here, but there’s a heftier spiciness too. Has a fruitiness, but is harsh, and a bit sour. Heavy, not a refreshing drink at all.

3.3

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear copper pour with a big frothy off white head, aroma has coriander and some spice, taste has some red fruit action, along with spice, some apple pie, very herbal with impressive yeast profile.

3.1
jamestulloch (4330) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 4, 2016
Bottle. Hazy golden body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of green apple, subtle spices and peanut shell. Flavour of stewed apple, blood orange and yeast. Thin to medium body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Lively fizz. Quite a strange beer - it’s very dark and malty for a Saison.
