Cask (handpump) at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell on 21 April 2012. Getting towards the end of a long and boozy day so my notes are a bit sketchy. Reddish colour (didn’t realize about the beetroot - my goodness, a beetroot beer and a cucumber beer in the same day, whatever next). Some sweetness. Not too sticky or hot in the alcohol department. Plenty of hops. Bloody good stuff. Can’t say I tasted any beetroot, which may be just as well.

Cask at CBC, London. Pours clear, ruby-red with a foamy, white head. Lovely nose, all orange, melon, grapefruit and passionfruit, along with light pine. Medium to big sweet flavor, lots of ripe, juicy citrus, more melon, some canteloupe, grapefruit, light sweat and pee, mild grass and booze. Medium to full in body with fine carbonation. Mildly warming finish with some sticky and resinous grass and pine, lasting fruity citrus, grapefruit, melon, orange. Has a wonderful citrus fruit character. Very drinkable. Solid beer on all fronts. downender (8728) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2012
Bottle from Grape & Grind, Bristol. Deep orange in colour with a slight blush, caused no doubt by the beetroots added to the brew, and a decent white head. Big aroma of citrus fruit and pineapple with a hint of pine. Flavour had some solid, slightly sweet malts, lots more fruit and ended with a powerfully dry finish. Excellent all round. jackl (8271) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 13, 2012
Cask @ CPK. #8 in the ’Freestyle Fridays’ series. A pink IPA, apparently. Deep amber orange with a tiny white head. The nose is big. Plenty of grapefruit citrus, some cheese. Light berry fruits. The taste is spicy, grassy hops, more citric grapefruit juice. Sugary indeed. There’s also a presence of some balancing brioche maltiness. The finish is dry and hoppy. THe body is medium, the carbonation soft. Overall, excellent. You wouldn’t be a fool to say these guys are the best in the UK at the moment. Seriously impressive.
