COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The newest addition to the sour series is richly complex and reminiscent of brandy-soaked dark fruits, toasted nuts, and a sweet balsamic reduction. Framboozled features a hint of barnyard funk from extended barrel aging in the presence of friendly microbes. This amazing brew is a year in the making. We start with our slightly boozy 7.25% Strawberry Blonde, brewed with orange peel, coriander, and strawberries. Then we age it in gueuze-inoculated oak barrels for at least nine months, finally re-fermenting it with whole raspberries before bottle-conditioning. Framboozled’s dark and brooding flavor profile pairs like an earthy Bordeaux, a spicy Red Zinfandel, or a Cabernet Sauvignon. Think big juicy steak, roast duck, sharp hard cheese, or rich dark chocolate.

Cloudy brownish color. Complex sour taste. Best I have had from this brewer. Fruit comes across, but hard to pinpoint the raspberries.

Draft to taster at Shakespeare’s Pub. Looks solid; a fairly transparent dark orange with foamy off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells funky and oaky with notes of dark fruit, licorice, balsamic, and vanilla. Tastes like it smells with a mildly tart medium to medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Solid.

Pour on tap at HopCat, hazy reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of white fruit, raspberry, cherry some slight spice into a bit of yeast, slight acetic note into a bit of lemon. Taste was a mix of sour cherry, berry, red fruits into a bit of lemon, oak, some slight funky notes with a hint of grain, finishing fairly tart.

This poured a Ruby red color with a pinkish head. Aroma was seedy raspberry, light lemon juice, and skin Flavor similar, more tart flesh, lightly grainy and jury seeds. Nice

Heavy raspberry and sour smell. Taste follows the nose. The raspberries come out quite heavily and nicely on this one.

From notes. Finally getting around to adding beers from the Ypsi Summer Beerfest! Enjoyed on July 25. The pour is an amber-ish orange color with minimal head and just a collar of lace. I was expecting something a little more pink or red, having looked at the bottle in my cellar a umber of times. The aroma is raspberry and cherry, with a strong tartness to it. Not really the sour I was expecting. The raspberry really comes through i nthe flavor and then rolls through to a nice cherry finish. The mouth feel isn’t overly thin, and the carbonation helps it coat well. The aftertaste is lingeringly dry and fruity. Not bad at all

On tap at MBGSF 2014. Pours an orange amber. Raspberry and Sweet Tarts (the candy) aroma. Flavor gives even more Sweet Tarts, some tart berries: raspberry, strawberry, and eventually cherry. I should note the Sweet Tarts isn’t a knock against it: this is actually really good.

tap. Red with small head. There’s some tartness, but this isn’t sour in the same way that I associate with Belgian lambics. Nonetheless, there’s excellent raspberry flavor, and this is very pleasant.

Nose seems more cherry than raspberry/strawberry. Based on the picture on the label, I expected something more pink in color and thus fruitier like a Lindemans. Fruit is actually very subtle and doesn’t bring a whole lot to the party. Sourness is excellent. The best Arbor beer I’ve had.

Draft at Logan's Alley - pours a bright slightly transparent red . Big farmhouse funk with mild raspberry on the nose . Taste is a medium sour with some fresh raspberry . Excellent sour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
