11th October 2008. GABF. Presented as from the ’Corner’ brewery. This version 9.0% abv. Clear dark brown beer. Nice fruity malt with just a subtle hop finish. Dry palate. Slighty unusual. Tmoney99 (15226) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 14, 2009
Bottle at Ann Arbor. Poured clear reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt and small dark fruit aroma. Medium body with a thick smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.

Rich and malty old ale. Matl comes in with some cocoa, very fruity though, the alcohol isn’t too over the top. hopdog (13315) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2010

Sampled from the tap at corner brewery. Poured a deep hazy amber with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of sweet grains with underlying notes of light fruit and a hint of caramel. Flavor starts with sweet grains and light fruits, but finishes with caramel and a bit of booze. phaleslu (10992) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 29, 2016
12 oz. bottle from DrSilverworm - thanks, Chris! Pours a mahogany color, not quite opaque, with a small khaki ring that settles into a thin ring. Notes of toasted and chocolate malts, tobacco, earth, dark dried fruits, and a hint of mellow roast. Medium-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a smooth, earthy, malty mouthfeel. Best I’ve had from them. cubs (10745) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 16, 2011
Bottle in Detroit. Caramel brown appearance with a tan head. Dark caramel, chocolate, slight toffee aroma. Rich toffee, thick caramel, dark chocolate, slightly nutty flavor with a touch of booziness on the finish. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 17, 2015
12oz bottle, thanks to Michael. Nice chocolate up front, good earthy hop, some caramel. Mild roast. Medium to bigger body, decent full feel. Lighter carbonation. Mild slick texture. Very dark red brown color. Ring of bubbly khaki head, some small bits of lace. Moderate sweet taste, light to moderate bitter, pleasant touch of heat. Plum, raisin in the finish. Smooth, tasty old ale. Satisfying to enjoy with my sandwich, but a bit sweet on it’s own.
