COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Jackhammer is a very dark brown ale with a nice reddish hue. Offering a welcome warming sensation, it has a rich malty sweetness. Fruity esters, expected in this style beer, add to the already complex palate and help to provide an immensely satisfying experience!

Poured a very dark amber which seemed highly carbonated and had a thick, light brown head that stayed foamy for awhile. Smells sweet, almost belgian-y with maybe a little hop in there. The flavor is a rich olde ale consistant with others that I have tried (and quite good!). It’s sweet with a bitter finish and a bit of a tart aftertaste. It’s medium-bodied in the mouth and quite drinkable. Seems pretty gentle for 8.5% and well worth the try!

Way too carbonated...maybe a bad bottle. Flavor of the beer was a bit unbalanced...harsh in the finish. Strong hops and sweet malt, but not the best balance.

Bottle at Ann Arbor. Poured clear reddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt and small dark fruit aroma. Medium body with a thick smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where exceeded.

On tap at Crunchys, East Lansing. Deep translucent red-brown body, medium tight cream head. Nose of grape, brown sugar, and toast, sweet and somewhat bitter. Leathery, boozy body with grape, caramel, brown sugar, toast, and hints of butterscotch. Strong but boring.

Deep brown with a red hue. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit and nuts. A smooth and rich beer, with some nuttiness, and sweetness. and mild fruit flavours. Alcohol very well hidden. Its an interesting beer, but not mind blowing.

Pitcher pour at Arbor tasting event. Ruby red color. No head, no lacing. Nice musty old leather smells, somewhat sweet in aroma. Nice hopping balances malt bill well. Alcohol is barely perceptible. Good!
