Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is caramel malts and some chocolate. Flavor is way too sweet for a stout. Not really any coffee or roasted malts flavor at all. cheap (6006) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 15, 2017
Bottle. Volatile chocolate. Fairly flat. Taste does have some chocolate in there. Now a little sizzle comes thru. More fudgy chocolate in the middle. Seems to have a little more alky than the 5.5% stated here. In the end it seems to grow on you a little. Almost becomes a little cloying towards the finish. Could not drink more than one of these. Rich, yes, satisfying? IDK. I guess I got to try it topped with whipped cream? Ahuth (642) - Illinois, USA - SEP 30, 2016
Bottled. Pours watery black. Chocolate aroma. The palate is wet and watery. The taste is roasty chocolate and fudge taste. andyhwcinc (1884) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 23, 2016
Purchased at Siciliano’s Market in Grand Rapids, MI, enjoyed at home on the first day of fall. Appearance is pitch black, moderate consistency. Aroma is very faint with light fudge. Taste is a bit odd, there is fudge in there but it’s more of a watery stout, so watered fudge would be an accurate description for this brew. Not a fan. Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a black color with a small foamy tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was dryish with wood, chocolate and smoke. The flavor was dryish with smoke, roasty malts, cocoa powder and wood elements. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and fairly smooth. Disappointing.

Appearance: Inky darker brown. Fine ring of tiny tan bubbles.
Nose: Faint nose of cocoa and roasty malt
Taste: Faint taste of cocoa, vanilla and aspects of roasty malts
Body: Medium to thinner. Very light carbonation
Parting thoughts: Initial impression was this beer was flat. I’m not sure if this is a new thing. I’ve seen a few of these beers over the last couple months. If it’s intentional, I’m not a fan.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thick beige head. Aromas are subtle: dark chocolate and dank yeasty esters. Flavors are chocolate, black licorice, vinous tones, cola and hints of paper. Somewhat sweet, but the winey flavors are a distraction. Somewhat oily mouthfeel. ADfan (870) - Orange County, California, USA - AUG 8, 2016
The beer pours a dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and some cocoa. The taste is smooth with chocolate up front and then some roasted malts and a mild bitterness on the finish. Nice lacing on the glass. mfhennig (285) - McHenry County, Illinois, USA - MAR 17, 2016
Thanks Lorene! Pours a dark brown with a minimal head. Fudge and roasted malt aromas, flavor is a bit too sweet for me, but there is some bitter coffee. Falls into the average beer range. I’m not buyin’ it, but if you are, I’ll have one. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 4, 2016
Pours a dark brown almost black color with khaki colored head. Chocolate, fudge, some roast and smoke on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with chocolate, roast, and smoke.
