Ultra foam...mu altbier glass was utterly useless, and even in a chalice I had to spoon some out. Very dark brown - rather untraditional. Aroma is chocolatey, with light wood and faint rhubarb. Overcarbonated. This of course detracts from the raisins, wood, light smoke and dark chocolate. This is more a porter than an alt. If the carbo is usually at a more normal level, then you're looking at 3 to 5 points higher I think. Ferris (17097) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2014
Draft - Roast malts and some dark raisin with a bit of syrup. Deep brown with a nice brown head. Light syrupy roast with some burnt toast. Malty and nice. Tmoney99 (15120) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 5, 2005
Draft as sampler at Arbor Brewing. Dark color with medium head that diminshed quickly. Medium malt aroma. Medium body with smooth texture. Good flavor of malt and a medium dry finish. Very good alt brew. Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 24, 2009
12 ounce bottle courtesy of mibirder. Thanks! Pours an extremely dark brown color with a huge tan head. Good retention and fair lacing. Aroma of big roasted malts and slight tart fruits. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, tart fruits, bandaid.. Something a bit off. Medium bodied, Dogbrick (14310) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 28, 2011
This brew pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is roasty and malty with notes of hops. Medium body with flavors of sweet roasted malt, hops and a touch of coffee. The finish is roasty with a lingering grainy malt aftertaste. Decent beer overall.

Definitely a dark altbier. Big tan head that sticks frever. Smell is malty and caramally with a big hit of metal. Flavor is similiar, a nice smack of metal coats the beer. It works a lot more in the smell than the flavor. hopdog (13191) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 6, 2006
On tap at the Arbor Brew Pub. Poured a dark brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of nuts, light smoke, roast and some dark fruits. Tastes of nuts, roast, and some caramel. Sammy (12995) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2007
No aroma, little dots in the head. Some bitterness and decent for the style, but not the best I have had. Quaffable. deyholla (12583) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 24, 2009
On tap. Poured a dark brown with a thick light brown head. Aroma had notes of caramel, cereal and dark breads. Flavor was full of dark sweet notes, such as caramel and molasses. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - SEP 3, 2008
on tap-pours a light tan head and black with red color. Aroma is medium/dark fruit, sweet medium malt. Taste is medium/dark fruit, sweet medium malt-although some burnt character and thinish body detracts, some spice.
