This one will sneak up on you if you are not careful (I speak from experience). So easy drinking and rather strong... bad combo. But oh so delicious.

Bottle. Pours dark brown. Light tan head. Aroma of dark fruits and spices. Flavor is the same, but it has a nice roasty character. Sometimes dubbels can be too sweet, but this one has a bit of bitterness in it that keeps the sweet stuff contained. I really enjoyed. Would drink again.

Aroma of pear, roast cereals, coffee, and bubblegum. Appears opaque dark brown, thick light brown head, beautiful lace. Tastes more like a porter than a Belgian; coffee and bitter dark chocolate. Very nice texture. Overall, good, but is more of a Belgian porter hybrid.

Tap. Black pour. Some lingering tan head and lace. Syrupy but rich body. Burnt sugar, roasty nose. Tastes surprisingly heavy on the charred malts. Pretty bitter at front, too. Boozey. Tastes more like an imperial porter than anything very Belgian.

12oz bottle. Thanks to umich03jm. Decided to open this up in the middle of the night, couldn’t get to sleep (hopefully this helps). Very dark red, nearly black color. Surprisingly dark. Thin slightly bubbly khaki head. Some short ropes and dots of lace. Big raisin plum fruity flavor. Kind of spicy. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Some oxidization type flavor. Light to moderate sweet, slight bite at the end. Medium to bigger body. Kind of crisp, sort of smooth, lighter carbonation. Light drying finish. A little rough around the edges but not bad overall. Ended up finishing it alright. Decent American dubbel, delivers the ABV without much fuss

From a 12 oz bottle shared at the Beer Head BBQ in Falls Church VA. Pours a clear dark copper with an ecru head. Toasted nut aroma. Flavors of caramel. Smooth finish.

BrownALEx (459) - Portland, Michigan, USA - FEB 13, 2014
Pours a deep dark brown. Aromas of sweet bread and Belgian yeast. Taste is Belgian yeast, sugar candy, wood and alcohol. Palate lingers with a nice subtle bitterness. Overall a wonderful beer, nice and balanced. Well done Corner.

Little to no head on the pour. Slight smell of plumb, a little molasses. Smooth with a slight bitterness on the finish. Lingers a bit.

On tap. Dark brown without much head. Mild but sweet aroma. Flavor is a bit sour with notes of raisins and plums. Crisp with a slightly sharp mix of carbonation and alcohol at the end.

Dark reddish brown ale. Has a sweet malty taste similar to lighter colored Belgian ales. Delicious.
