Draft at the Arbor Brewing Company Pub & Eatery. Poured a small white head, uncarbonated, transparent, good lacing, and a red hue. Malty and hoppy aroma and echoed in the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Zach Diesel (906) - Sisters, Oregon, USA - OCT 25, 2004
freshly mashed balanced aroma, super dark with a slight brownish red tint, tastes like unfermented homebrew wort with a noticeable hop presence thedm (6225) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 20, 2004
This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of finely sized mostly lasting off-white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained no carbonation, was transparent and copper in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild red malt caramel . Its mouth feel is mild tingly with a palate and a aftertaste. Its flavor contained mild red malt hoppy notes. All-in-all very nice brew all around. YnotABeer (96) - Missouri, USA - AUG 10, 2003
liked it for a bitter. smooth drinking (not heavy) and not too much hops. just a great brewery. Schroppfy (2360) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - DEC 18, 2002
A red, cloudy beauty! Fresh, hoppy (to me) aroma, fruity like down there at the pink rim of the watermelon rind...I swear that’s how it smelled! Sweet and bitters mingle nicely. Quite good. A bit thinnish.

Tap. A nice amber color with well laced head. Flavor included chocolate, dry, and some roasted flavors. The best one of the evening. tourette (225) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 30, 2001
This is a really enjoyable beer. The other reviewer is right, in that its not that hoppy. Taken on its own terms, its really good though. Very easy drinking, and still falvorful and complex enough to keep me interested. hennes (934) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - SEP 8, 2001
I like the ABC a lot; they have a beautiful copper top bar and make fine beers. This beer is a good brew but disapointingly off balance for a ’bitter’ - it tends toward the malty feel of a scotch ale and the hops seem almost an afterthought. Still, it’s lovely to look at and a good one to go for if the guys say ’one more round’ and you just can’t see putting down another full bodied porter or stout.
