Bottle. Pours a murky reddish-brown color with a medium off-white head. Lots of sediment! Aroma is malty and almost coffee-like, which I found odd for the style. On tap at the brewpub. Aroma middles with some faint chalky malt, melded with grain sugar and nip of hop residue. Pours an expected burnished ruddy amber, with a foam of white. Flavor presents a calm, sensible plain malt, backed with touches of fig, peanuts and caramel. Hops bring in good balance and a mineral yeast quality finds home in the remaining balance. Ok I got takes on this beer. One on tap at Corner brewery and one bottle.
On tap there is minimal head and lacing, mild toffee aroma. A strong toffee taste. Not bad.
Bottle. A continuous gusher. Hops more noticable in aroma. Taste less noticable. I find it inexcusable in a 12oz Amber for it to be a gusher.
I cut the overall in half due to the foam problem in the bottle because I paid $10 for the 6er. Last time for this brewery. lumberjack (178) - Michigan, USA - AUG 4, 2007
Bottle as part of A.B.C. sample pack. Dark red color with a massive amount of off-white head (too much really). Scent and taste is of very earthy hops and some citric-like fruits. Maybe a a bit too much carbonation. Overall this is a tasty and well balanced amber ale.

A clear pretty red (almost ruby) pour with lots of white and off-white foam that filled the glass, very carbonated as are the other Arbor beers, toasted malt and malt aroma with a faint fruit, sweet and caramel fragrances, some floral hops, some malt sweetness in the sip, there is malt, caramel and some toasted malt flavor with a hop citrus bitterness, bitterness lingers into the finish to give make this drink pretty dry, more bitterness then other Ambers I have had, it was ok. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 23, 2007
bottle...pours ruby red with medium carbonation..aroma is largely earthy, grassy hops abound...little malt present in the nose...flavor is very different for an amber...largely grassy with massive earth-like qualities...has a huge grainy, dry oatmeal flavor to it (that is oddly, very appetizing)...there is also something else that is heavily emphasized here, but i cant quite think of it...will try another definitely and get back to that trait...very good, very unique gearbike (512) - West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA - JUL 11, 2007

Bottle (12oz). Murky deep orange-brown with a massive frothy tan head. Smells like an incredibly malty, roasted chestnuts, woody, bitter "bitter" - borders on a light porter The taste is ... dry, a little sour, dry yeast, dry stale nutshell bitterness, overly carbonated and very very astringent - leaves a bitter, slightly sour aftertaste. Served as a light-hazed, deep amber brew. Too weak in the nose to uncover more than a hint of roasted malt. Diacetyl butteriness and a metallic edge start the flavor. Light bodied and dry, flavors improve to rye and roasts. Meh.
