Chelmsford Beer Festival. Hazy gold beer, little white head. Could smell the fruits on this as soon as the gravicask tap was released. Palate is slightly soft and very slightly dry. Mild fine carbonation. Fresh skunk which fades quickly. Big juicy passion fruit with tropical fruits underneath. Touch of hop spice and a little lemon in the semi dry finish. Fab! An easy choice for beer of the festival.
Keg in The Draft House, Goodge Street. Colour is rustic amber, white medium foam head. Nose is big tropical fruit hop, pineapple, tangerine citrous, little bit of muskiness. Taste is different. Earthy, stale sweaty, musky, husky, minerally, stoney with some tropical fruits. Curious fusty sweaty taste.

Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Beer was listed as ’Arbor Mosaic IPA 5.9%’, which seems like a fairly large difference from the 6.8% listed for this entry. If somebody can confirm these two examples are the same beer, please let me know. Anyway, it pours clear gold with a creamy white cap. Lovely pissy hop nose with delicate citrus accents. Medium sweet flavor with loads of fresh urine - perhaps a man’s, perhaps a cat’s - with a bit of tangerine and balancing pale malt sweetness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Light hoppy resins to finish with tons more pee, faint lemon, hints of grass, tangerine, touches of alcohol. Mostly, though, it’s just glorious piss. robbgg (36) - Derbyshire, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2013
Dark golden with herbal and spicy aroma. Pine, mango, citrus and tropical fruits in the flavour over a solid, sweetish malt base, dry finish. Guest92330 (16) - London, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2013
Cask at the Old Fountain. Piney, spicy aroma. Noses like a standard hoppy ipa of this sort of strength. Somewhere between golden and amber, slightly viscous
More spicy, piney hops in the mouth and an indescribable ’something’ that’s not pleasant to my palate. Modest carbonation, malt comes through later and clashes with the herbal stuff going on. Not easy to drink and lacking in the citrussy, refreshing character you get with some hop bombs..
I’m generally a fan of big IPAs, but just can’t get on with the Mosaic hop at all. Too herbal and doesn’t work with the malt and alcohol. johninmelb (1127) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 14, 2013
Excellent. Best Arbor so far. Citrussy, gently spicy nose with grapefruit, mango, papaya. Flavour follows - lemonadey notes with cardamom, orange zest, lime juice and pine needles. Finishes dry, and achingly, thirst-quenchingly moreish. downender (8882) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2013
Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 26/06/2013. Copper in colour with a slight, off-white head. Massive, herbal aroma with some passion fruit and a hint of berries. Flavour had a solid, almost bready malt base, more tropical fruits and greenery, a hint of toast and dry finish. Brutal stuff, but in a good way.
