Hillgrove Porter Store, Bristol. Deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, floral with some mild resiny notes. Flavour is fruity, wooden, resiny, quite toffeeish along with some herbal and mild crystal notes. Balanced, but lacks the final touch in hoppyness.
Cask-conditioned at the Colston Yard, Bristol 4/08/2012. Bronze coloured with a slight white head. Massive aroma of tropical fruit and apples with a hint of pine. Flavour was sweet to start, with plenty more fruit and a rasping, bitter finish. All a bit intense for me.
