Bottle from Sean - thanks! Clear copper colored pour with a slick of light tan foam. Vinegar, green apple, tart, earthy grain, and lemon in the aroma. Heavy vinegar/tart flavor with apple, lemon, and light grain. Slightly watery mouthfeel. Decent.

Draft at Crunchy’s in East Lansing (from notes). Caramel with a red hue. Sour with a touch of vinegar. Well balanced and smooth. Light aftertaste.

tap. Amber with small head. Pleasantly sour with brett flavor. Very easy drinker -- would be a good beer to introduce the style to someone.

7/6/13. 750mL bottle thanks to mibirder! Looking through past ratings, I didn’t know that Arbor ever had any problems with sours, and this bottle certainly didn’t seem bad. In fact, I was surprised at how good this beer was considering myself and basically nobody at the tasting had had it before or really heard much about these guys. Hazy golden orange pour with a nice fluffy off-white head. Lots of acidity, sweet tarts, and sourness on the aroma and flavor. Super sour, lots of acidity, but I dig it. I thought this was pretty damn tasty stuff!

gonzosauce (196) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JUL 2, 2013
Opaque red brown; wonderful aroma of sour red berries that borders, but doesn’t quite touch vinegar. Vinegar shows up in the flavor, bot not detrimentally. An enjoyable, impressive, sweet & sour ale.

750mL Bottle. Thanks so much Sean! Geez, it’s been a while since I’ve had an Arbor sour, and thankfully this one doesn’t have any acetone in it! Aroma gurgles with a hint of manure, some fermenting grasses, and a punch of dill and lavender herbalness. On the tongue a swift kick of lemon acid, nice and halting. What starts out as clean and rich in the lacto-acid swiftly takes on a flailing herb and spice quality as it kicks and screams its way out the door. The acidity is gut wrenching, but good in the best way super sour beers can be sour, not like pickle juice, but certainly not soft. This is very decent, with some fun plays of flavor and lacking the problems that past Arbor sours have suffered from.

(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) hazy medium orange, effervescent bubbles, ring of fine tan bubbles. Nose of apples, barrel, caramel, tart, smells delicious and rich. Taste is really nice and sour, cranberry, seltzer water, great tart linger, dried cranberries. Great balance and well carbonated.

Ginger-y and spicy smell. The flavor is tart and acidic, nice dryness. Some spice and earthiness. Plenty of sourness. Pretty delicious.

hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 17, 2012
750ml bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with a small sized off white head. Manure (everything was smelling like manure in Mike’s basement tonight), vinegar, green apples, earth, and funk. Damn Eric for saying pickle juice.
