COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Strawberries are Spring’s first fruit. They announce the end of the long Midwest winter and welcome the lazy days of summer. They herald a season of weekends at the lake, walking barefoot through the grass, and whiling away the afternoon at your local beer garden. Be sure to savor your Strawberry Blonde while it lasts because like a Michigan summer, it’ll be gone before you know it. Food Pairings: Great with tangy BBQ, balsamic vinaigrette, citrusy or spicy dishes, and strawberry rhubarb pie Tasting Notes: This is a sophisticated fruit ale that doesn’t forget it’s a beer. Rich and flavorful medium bodied beer with a fresh, floral strawberry aroma. Citrus, spice, and fruit are blended seamlessly for a subtle yet distinct flavor that never turns too sweet.

Nice beer. Not too sweet but also tastes good. Strawberry desert. Nice subtle malts. Nice differing colors.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy deep orange/amber color with a small off white head with poor retention, that reduces to a minimal ring of lace pretty quickly. Minimal lacing on the glass. Aromas of strawberry, mango, apricot, orange peel, pear, coriander, honey, toast, biscuit, light caramel, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of strawberry, spices, fruity yeast, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big strawberry, mango, apricot, orange peel, pear, coriander, honey, toast, biscuit, light caramel, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of strawberry, mango, apricot, orange peel, pear, coriander, honey, toast, biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of strawberry, spices, fruity yeast, and bready malt flavors; with no cloying sweetness present after the finish. Light carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good fruited imperial blonde style. All around good balance and robustness of strawberry, spices, fruity yeast, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

pours hazy medium dark golden, orange tint, with a small off-white cap, no retention or lacing. phenolic fruits, spices, berry fruitiness, diacetyl, acetone, sweet honeyed malts - doughy caramel too, strawberry if not miscellaneous fruit jam - comes with a plain sweetness. average carbonation, light body - oily and a bit sticky, sweetish and short bitter herbal-peppery finish. offensive, defects-wise. blah.

You can really smell the malt and the yeast in this beer for me. I was really hoping to taste and smell more of the strawberries, but for me it just wasn’t there. The taste was a bit like cough syrup, almost like its trying too hard to be sweet. Rather unexciting and unpleasant.

Hazy amber with a thin off-white head. Grainy aroma of strawberries, sweet malt, yeast and toasted malt. Tastes sort of artificial with strawberry, sweet malt and yeast.

Backlog of ratings. Thanks to someone at one of bu11zeye’s tastings. The smell is very heavy strawberry as you would expect, jelly like, somewhat artifical, and fruits. The look is dark golden in color with an off white head. The taste is sweet, strawberries, and ok.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2013 Bottle: pours amber and deep rustic copper, opaque near the top. Foamy gray tinted head reduces quickly. Aroma is slightly medicinal strawberry, a little sweet, some grains, and musty, spent hops. Taste starts off with some medicinal strawberry that gets more medicinal and a little chalky with time. A little sweet but kind of astringent in a weird way. Strange, musty off-putting syrupy and chalky finish. Grainy. Mouth feel is thin, carbonated heavily and sharp. Not the worst thing I’ve had, but not very good.
