Draft sample. Poured dark clear reddish amber color with an creamy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Solid complex sweet earthy malt and small amoke aroma. Medium to full body with a sticky smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid well balanced toasted sweet malt flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Very good complex brew. Newk (299) - - SEP 23, 2012
Poured from tap into a pint glass at Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. Pours a medium gold color with a nice and foamy head.
Very malt driven aromas with notes of toffee, caramel, malts with a slight bit of coffee.
Extremely nice and medium body with a real smooth and complete feel. Impressive for a 5% scotch ale with flavors of toffee, caramel and some malty notes.
This was a delicious scotch ale. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good considering the lower alcohol and the style for it. deyholla (11902) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 22, 2011
On tap at Corner brewing. Pours a clear amber brown with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has notes of caramel and toffee with some backing sweet grains. Flavor is similar with grains backed by a sweet note of caramel and a hint of toffee. flatmatt (1593) - Northville, Michigan, USA - JUL 20, 2011
On tap at the Corner Brewery. Pours a cloudy, yet bright amber with a white head. Pleasant berry and caramel aroma. Flavor is quite peaty with toffee and caramel, berry hints again. This is just a really good Scottish ale, very nice to drink. Great job. kassner (1681) - Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 30, 2010

On tap at Ypsilanti brewpub. Pours dark reddish amber with small tan head. Aroma is toffee, malt, caramel and light smoke. Flavor is toffee, hops, caramel with malt and light smoke. Medium mouthfeel. Not really complex but still a decent ale and easy drinker for the stylle. Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - JAN 15, 2008
Not really reddish in color, more like gold. Flavor is really malty with a hoppy bitterness in the finish. Really malty too and not really balanced. No real smokines either.
