Cask; Occasional. Also available bottle conditioned.
Brewed specially for a chap visiting from Birmingham who claimed there are no good hoppy beers brewed in Bristol and "the local brewers use the same recycled hops teabag in their brews". So, here we have a Transpacific Pale Ale, brewed without teabags but instead large amounts of American and New Zealand hops.
Due to the level of interest generated, has become an occasional brew rather than the one-off originally intended.

Cask at The Three Tuns, Bristol on 20 Nov. Poured a mid golden colour, with a halo of white head. Aroma of gooseberries, burnt sugar and grain. Mango sweetness in the flavour, with some brown sugar and slightly musky notes. Finish was biscuit, hop resin and golden syrup.

Keg @ Mother Kellys. Pours deep amber with fresh hoppy aroma. Zingy, hoppy character, lots of citrus, pine and grapefruit knocking about. Big flavours, decent bitterness, very refreshing tasty pale.

Bottle [from trade with minutemat] @ home. Lightly hazy orange color, medium sized off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is very fruity and hoppy. Taste is light to moderately malty, again very fruity, grapefruit, hops, fruit hops and nicely bitter. Medium body, medium carbonation, great balance. Lovely easy drinkable hoppy pale ale. Maybe its just because Im in a good mood but I really really like this beer.

Bottle. Hazy gold with an off white foam. Aromas are woody oak barrel with yeast and pithy grapefruit. Base grain with spiced oranges and melon. Leafy with minerals. Flavours are oranges and lemon with bitter grapefruit and low woody pine. Sudsy with spritzy yeast and tinned pineapple juice. Clean and grassy with a bitter finish. Very Arbor. Pretty good.

On tap at the Bow Bar. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - citrus probably oranges. Taste - moee orange but a little sweet if Im being honest. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that is disappointing as its not dry enough. Overall - great except for the finish.

Cask at Craven Arms, Birmingham. Good. All purpose APA. Or perhaps all porpoise. Golden, clean, facile hops. Fairly fragrant.

Tasted this in the Bon Accord, Glasgow in August 2013. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque pale tawny in colour with a thin white head. Strong and sweet aroma of Del Monte tropical fruit salad wafting long in the nose. Thick resiny mouthfeel and very poor lacing. Mixed malt base gives a strong fruit malt loaf background with strong fruit notes of lychees, mango and white peach. Slight prickle of floral hops combine well with the fruity malt in the long aftertaste. Malty finish is long and fruity with no astringency detected. Sweet warming golden syrup notes are also present. An excellent IPA and well recommended.

Cask pint. Copper colour. Spruce, pine, and grapefruit in the aroma - fairly muted. Taste gives light caramel, pine resin, grapefruit and light spicy notes. Thin mouthfeel. Lingering grapefruit and pine. Quite a nice little hop kick to this, pretty good.
