Bottle poured a hazy amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of bread, fruitiness and light yeast. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread, fruitiness and a hint of earthiness with a smooth finish.

Draft. Poured a hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate earthy hop and small malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium citrus bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. I would recommend this to a freind.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Ann Arbor Eisenhower, 3/23/16. Hazy brown, large foamy white head, good retention. Aroma of tart citrus and wet cat. Weird. The taste is earth, citrus, lime, caramel malt. Mild bandaid. High carbonation. I do not think this is what they envisioned.

On tap at the Ypsi Brewpub. Poured a clear deep gold with a nicely lacing white head. Aroma was full of hops, mainly pine notes with an undertone of orange peel. Flavor was hoppy throughout with a well balanced combination of citrus (orange) and pine.

Tap @ Arbor. Cloudy, yellow orange appearance with a big, fluffy white head. Slightly resiny, piney hoppy aroma with some citrus notes. A little thin. Grapefruit, piney, slightly resiny hoppy, light pale malty flavor. Pretty good.

Taster on tap at HopCat in East Lansing. Mostly clear golden color. Thin white head, good spread of thicker lace. Medium body. Smooth crisp lighter carbonation. Good bigger spicy citrusy hop profile, light biscuity malt. Bigger bitter taste. Light hint of zesty sweetness. Awesome hoppy assertive pale ale.

pours hazy bright yellow with a nice creamy white head, good retention and lacing. spicy citrus, grapefruit, lean pale fruity maltiness - orange skin, touch of sulfur and carbonic acid, hint of honey. soda pop carbonation, light body - slightly watery, dry if not harsh chalky-spicy-citrusy-piney finish. palately disturbing. nice hop features though.

Pailhead (6543) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - JUL 15, 2012
Bottle: The aroma has moderate-heavy orange, light lemon, grapefruit, and a hint of caramel. It pours a hazy golden-orange with lots of sediment. It has a three finger off-white head that leaves behind some nice webbing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with and even mixture of citrus (mostly orange) and caramel. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit and a touch of lemon. It’s light-medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, this is a really flavor and well balanced Pale Ale. I’ll definitely be picking up some more of this for the summer. It’s been awhile since Arbor impressed me with something new in a bottle.
