4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I am not a fan of Pale Ales, but I am a fan of this one. It has just enough bite to be pleasurable, but not something that will rot your tongue.
Pours a pale copper with a white foam head. Aroma is floral, spicy, and citrus hops with caramel malts. Flavor is floral and spicy hops and caramel. Dry with some bitterness. Has a light body with some carbonation. This is decent. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAY 12, 2017
Poured into an English pint glass, the appearance was a burnt dark copper color with a thin foamy finger’s worth of head. Slowly fell off to leave some stringy lace.
The aroma had some herbal to floral hop qualities flowing into a light biscuit-like malt base. Light toast and leather play with the caramel malt base.
The flavor was moderately sweet with a sturdy leafy dryness to slide into the aftertaste and cling in the finish.
The feel was almost medium bodied but sat just a tad underneath. Some carbonation was felt but nothing to distract from the style. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, I’d say pretty good English pale ale that I could have again but also probably would be better on cask and would most likely even be better with some fish n’ chips. Don2711 (475) - - FEB 23, 2016
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2016 Malty aroma with hints of biscuit. Good strength and nice on palate. All in all nice one. Second pint not good. Marked down 0.8 trapped (3150) - New York, TURKEY - DEC 28, 2015
Cask @ Albion. Hazy dark amber with large foamy beige head, lavender aroma, low carbonation, faintly sweet cookie like taste with lavender flavor, long finish with lavender aftertaste. Quite flavorful but smooth. DavoleBomb (1867) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 30, 2015
Poured into a perfect pint.
2.5 A: Very lightly hazed yellow orange color. Two fingers of foamy white head. Retention is poor and scant lacing is left.
3.5 S: Wow this is skunky. Not skunky as in it got skunked by light, but rather it smells like woodland creatures with skunk being the most apparent. Mineral, floral and earthy hops, light caramel, and a touch of breadiness round this out.
3.0 T: While the skunkiness worked in the nose, it’s not so great in the taste. It’s like chewing on woodchips if the wood taste was taken out(, ya I don’t know what I mean either). Grainy malts with just a hint of toastiness. Floral and earthy hops. Light caramel and breadiness. Mineral woodchip creatures.
3.0 M: Lighter medium body. A bit overcarbonated as it "blows up" in the mouth a bit. Could use some more creaminess as well.
3.0 D: It’s not necessarily bad, but it’s weird. Some might love it and probably more will hate it. Either way, I was glad to try it.

A malty English style pale ale. Strong hoppy bitter finish to this one. Smells malty and is overly carbonated. Had at Arcadia brewery.

Poured from 12oz bottle at home. Darker orange color. Very slight fruits on the nose, but mostly earthy and brown sugarish. The taste is nutty, malty and earthy. Not bad. Mikebov (11) - Grandville, USA - AUG 7, 2014
too much malt for my taste. it could use more hops as well. it?s not bad but has a bit of an after taste. czar (9076) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 7, 2014
pours cloudy almost dirty dark golden orange with a frothy off-white head, good retention and lacing. oranges and spices, pepper, fruity toasted maltiness - sweet toasted bread, nuttiness and caramel as well, earthy angles - with some bittering coffee grinds, carbonic acid, grass. lively carbonation - fizzy, assertive earthy-spicy-grassy-herbal-peppery finish. over carbonation, carbonic acid and sweetness kills it. meh.
